WORM IN FOOD. PART 1: I never saw myself giving this place such a bad review but the experience I went through last time I was here was not something I ever expected. 3/29 around 4:10 Ordered the fried fish platter with rice and beans and the birria burrito. Everything was fine and we were eating our food when my fiancé started digging around the fish to get rid of the bones and he found something that looked very odd. He showed me and we came to the conclusion that it was either a worm or a parasite from the fish. We called over an employee to ask about it and when we first showed it to him his eyes widened and his initial reaction told us what we need to know - we were right about our thoughts on it. The employee took it to the back to show his boss. Another waiter came to us and said he was going to take care of the situation because the manager was busy in the back with a lot of tickets. We said okay the other guy took it to the back if you want to take a look at it and tell us what that was. He went to the back and was gone for like 6-10 minutes and then was in a corner talking to other employees and eyeing our table. He didn’t come back to us until a different employee came to our table and we explained we were waiting for the other waiter. He finally comes back and starts rambling on about how that must’ve been something that stayed in the fish when they cleaned it that wasn’t taken out properly and that “it’s out of their hands” because it comes like that from their supplier…. I said that I needed a clear explanation of what that was because we ate that fish. He said he didn’t know how to explain it and went to the back to grab someone. A few minutes later him and a lady (cook named Maria) come to our table. The lady was holding a 6 inch hotel pan with a RAW fish in it. She proceeded to place that pan on our table next to our BELONGINGS and our COOKED food. (she didn’t even have a hair net on). She then proceeded to show us the raw fish insides and was explaining how what we saw was a tender bone of the fish that doesn’t come out until the fish is fried. She also stated that we can put our trust and faith in her that that wasn’t a worm or parasite and that nothing will happen to us. We explained to her that my fiancé works in the culinary field and has worked at professional restaurants where he’s seen that and every time he had it was a parasite that looked just like it.
We explained that we understand the fish comes like that from the supplier but it is THEIR responsibility to properly clean it and take accountability when serving it. Instead of trying to make us look incompetent by whispering to each other in the corner and laughing/giggling while eyeing our table. We asked for the check multiple times because we were just trying to get out of there but they never proceeded to get it for us, they just kept rambling on about how it was not what we thought it was.

Tacos de Birria: The Tacos de Birria at Mr. Taco are undeniably some of the best we've ever tasted. The tortillas were perfectly crispy yet soaked just right in the savory birria juices. Read moreMr. Taco is absolutely amazing! Based on the solid reviews I saw I decided to check them out. I was very impressed with everything so I decided to book the truck for a surprise birthday party I was throwing for my wife at our house.
To say that the owner and staff were the epitome of professional and accommodating would be an understatement.
The party was greatly enhanced by the truck being there. The menu we got included tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, chips, salsa, all the fixings (sour cream, guac sauce, hot sauce), tamarind juice and even churros.
All of our guests were completely in love with the food and raved about it to me throughout and after the party. I tried a bit of everything and every bite I had was full of flavor. You can tell that they use fresh ingredients and put a lot of love into their product.
I would highly recommend visiting this food truck and giving them a try. If you are hosting a party and are looking for a food truck, this is your answer. The service, price and quality of food is hands down some of the best in the state. That includes several other food trucks I've tried as well as catering services I've experienced. I will definitely be using them again and can't wait to visit the newly opened restaurant...
