Silver City Ballroom — Attraction in Meriden

THIS IS NOT A FAKE! Im entitled to share my experience as long as it’s the truth! How do i begin, We’ve spent a year planning our big day! I thought we made the right decision going with this place but what we didn’t realize is how unprofessional, unorganized, extremely expensive and cheap this place is. There is a cost for EVERYTHING, even a champion toast seriously! I knew back in June when i complained about miscommunication and hidden fees that i was possibly making a mistake, but i tried to put that aside and hope for the best daily. Lets get to the point! Staff was not attentive and careless! The food was nasty and cold no warmers to keep food hot! my 14 year old cooks better then that, serving size was if everyone was on a diet. 15 year old kids with nike and black t-shirts serving appetizers at a wedding, no water throughout the event, photography had to get bride and the groom water, wedding decorator had to clear the sweetheart table, didn’t have any Courtesy to help bride and groom cut the cake or hand out cupcakes to guest which resulted in them being tossed. Bathroom toiletry wasn’t properly stocked told multiple times but didn’t seem to care. Bar tender exposed that the tab ran out and bride owed money, That it self is unprofessional! could have just told guest cash bar instead! Didn’t meet my expectations. Thank the lord for the wedding decorator and DJ the venue would have never looked so amazing if it wasn’t for my vendors! And money is not the issue here it’s the principle the manager sucks and will not admit to true facts! The amount of complaints received from my guest is unreal! so hurt that i have to look back at this, on the upside my vendors did a fantastic job! I am not bashing your hall i’m sharing my experience. Reviews are the biggest and most popular way for others to make great decisions Especially for a wedding. birthday parties here sure, but Weddings Never! some personal information was shared without my consent. Notice how some of the comments get replies from the venue and it’s directed towards me, seems like they can’t take responsibility for anything and notice how they mention they couldn’t help out because it wasn’t in the contract there it is...

Don’t you dare call my review fake because it’s far from it !!!!! I see your tactics sir 🤨 If I could give this venue a zero star I would . Where do I start ? My sister in law took months to decide on a venue and was so excited about this one because it appeared to be everything she was looking for . Not!!! When I arrived to start helping her I arrive a few hours before to bring the cake and the guy (I think his name is Angel ) basically watched me and another woman struggle to bring the cake and cupcakes in . Didn’t even offer to lend a hand until I think he heard me mumble under my breath how rude he was . Prior to that on Thursday night I asked for water during rehearsal and his response was “I only have tap” not even a “I’m sorry I only have tap” very unapologetic . His whole attitude from the moment I met him was just uggghh ! If you are running a wedding venue at least pretend like you enjoy your job for the bride, groom, and family . He couldn’t even fake it ! Wedding day was even worse . Nobody checked on the bride to see if she needed anything , no water anywhere , no sanitizer anywhere, the bathroom was out of toilet paper half the night ! The female bartender was the only nice person . He sucked and should not be in customer service ever !! I watched my sister In Law reach over her husbands head to cut their cake . Really ? You couldn’t even arrange the cake so they could cut it properly ? I get it , it’s hard to find staff, but you really need to learn to be nicer .Nobody handed out the cupcakes but he had 3 teen looking kids clearing tables all night . Not one time did anyone ask the bride if she was thirsty or at least get a feel on how she thought things were going . The food ? Ugh it was cold and flavorless . Except the Empanadas (those were good)No love put into it whatsoever ! The venue just did not meet anyone’s expectations and I feel so bad that this is what they have to remember on their wedding day . I wish we could do it over SOMEWHERE ElSE! Went there for a wedding over the weekend. Staff were serving food without napkins during a pandemic. Having people touching everything with their hands. Bar tender was rude and charging guest during open bar. Workers were not giving anyone water. Bathroom ran out of toilet paper, staff was told many times and still didn’t refill them. Then got angry when toilets were clogged with paper towels. People have to wipe. Bride and groom were not being served by any staff. They were given no water. Food was dry and they ran out of it. When we asking for more then 5 ziti staff was rolling their eyes. Worst service, do not recommend for a venue. Literally the Walmart of wedding venues. GO ELSEWHERE!!! Brides be aware!!

The owner is now responding saying my review is fake. Reading his response actually bothers me. I am not a scam I was a guest at this wedding, And many things that were stated in his response was very untruth. I’m sorry that your place sucked and to say no guests touched anything you take CDC guidelines seriously was so untruth. I had to keep asking for napkins for the dessert area because no one had any.And we had no water all night, having people drink without giving anyone water. If your business was good I would not have taken the time out of my work day to write a review. And for the record, when it’s true it’s not called slander. Slander is untrue things.
