Having had the chance to work with Perry and the family/staff(including Finny)with picking out both an engagement ring and wedding bands, I can't recommend enough coming to Copper Canary for any jewelry or appraisal needs. There wasn't any pressure applied at all as far as trying to upsell, which I know is a worry for some when going to pick out a ring. They were so accommodating, friendly, and welcoming, and worked with us to help choose the perfect pair of bands. For anyone that is wanting to have their jewelry appraised/purchased you need to make sure Copper Canary is on the list. Perry proved himself to me on two separate occasions to be very forthright and honest. Example; had a gold bracelet that had been mended with a 14k stamped on the clasp, the bracelet itself was actually 18k, and he made sure to inform me of the true value of the bracelet, rather than taking it at the 14k gold stamp mark. They have something for anyone's taste, whether you're looking for a piece that is from the Victorian era, or something that's the latest jewelry trend, they've got it all. Side note:Do not be crestfallen when Finny, the Australian shephard, doesn't let you love on him, it took 3 hours before he let me pet him, that being said.....it's worth the wait, spend 3 hrs and become a part of the club of select individuals that have been blessed with Finny's affection! Also worth noting, I needed a ring to be repaired, it's previous re-size ended up failing(from a different business, the solder failed and had a broken band)had a quote from a place in Boise that was around 400$.....Perry did it for 80$, and was finished within 30ish mins, not to mention looked flawless, could not tell it had been mended whatsoever. Customer service was outstanding. Yes it still exists. Especially here. Keely took amazing care of us. Very much appreciated and valued her opinions, knowledge and care. It is a family owned and integrated business, you will get to interact with a father and his daughter, Allie, whom he's mentored for the past 11 years to continue on the family legacy. Allie was instrumental in the initial choosing of the engagement ring, my first visit there. She was so helpful in presenting the different options to me within the confines of what my specifications were for the ring I wanted to present to my now fiance. The team altered the original ring, which was set with a diamond and pearl, to be set with our two individual birthstones which ended up being a very unique and one of a kind ring, which I will attach a picture of along with this review. Thank you Copper Canary for a stress-free and joyous...
Read moreI can't recommend The Copper Canary enough! I was searching high and low for someone who could help restore my great-grandmother’s platinum and diamond ring—an incredibly sentimental piece that had been worn daily since the early 1940s. Not many jewelers today have the expertise to work with platinum, let alone handle such a delicate restoration. The ring had seen prior repairs in white gold, and I was at risk of losing some of the stones altogether.
From the moment I walked in, the team at The Copper Canary was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and professional. They took the time to show me examples of their previous restoration work, and I immediately knew I was in good hands. They offered me a very fair price for the full restoration—a task that required meticulous care—and stuck precisely to their promised timeline, which I deeply appreciated. (Do note that they require payment upfront, but it's absolutely worth it!)
When the restoration was complete, I brought my 92-year-old grandmother along to pick it up. The moment she saw the ring, it was like stepping back in time. The Copper Canary not only restored it to its original splendor but also noticed and recreated tiny accent details that had worn away over the decades. Their expertise in vintage jewelry is unmatched, and their attention to detail is nothing short of extraordinary. After we took my grandma out to dinner and she told us a lot of stories about going to get it and memories she had not shared before, she cried in the car and told me 'dont worry its happy tears'
Beyond their restoration work, they also have a stunning collection of vintage pieces. It's never too late to start an heirloom tradition in your family, and if you have old jewelry in need of love, they are truly phenomenal. The Copper Canary brought a cherished family treasure back to life, and for that, I will always...
Read moreI stopped in the store out of curiosity, in Oct 2023. I had not expected to fall head over heels in love with several exquisite Edwardian and Victorian-era necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. The eye-catching, architecturally appealing store is roomy inside, upscale, filled with natural light, and appointed with thoughtful touches such as the wine/coffee bar and fancy powder room. Modern, retro, antique, unusually unique, one-of-a-kind, non-mass-produced styles, with mid-range to high-end prices are found here.
A charming, knowledgeable young man assisted me with my questions. No pushy sales or arrogance here. The old-fashioned, classy, expert sales approach, combined with the fine antique wares, the piquing of my imagination with the English poetry whispering to me, and me wanting to treat myself to something special after undergoing significant professional hurdles and gains, led me to make an investment purchase of swoon-worthy diamond dangling, truly statement (yet understated and even coquettish) earrings. I will treasure these for the rest of my life. I can wear them with casual everyday outfits and with dressier togs for special occasions.
I also purchased a stylish, punk-ish, haute black leather, metal-studded jewelry box with ample space for all manner of jewelry.
I was treated exceptionally well by all the staff there, and the owner even came out and explained the provenance of the earrings I had purchased! The "thank you" card I received, and other generous touches go a long way in securing goodwill.
Such lovely people, and such a...
