Five Guys on Fairview in Meridian, Idaho, had friendly, polite service, clean facilities, and our hamburgers and French fries were good with large portions. They were also the exact wrong order.
Unfortunately, for a walk-in, to-go order, when we arrived home, it was the wrong order. I think a cheeseburger, a bacon cheese burger, and a large fry should be easy, and our receipt showed the exact order made.
We got home, the condiments ordered for the bacon cheeseburger were on the cheeseburger, and the bacon cheeseburger had neither bacon nor cheese and had the wrong condiments. So both burgers came incorrectly configured. They were not the burgers we ordered.
We are 15 minutes away, but it was later at night, and we didn't feel like going back to correct, nor did we call.
What's the point, and how do you prove that? The receipt has our exact order, but again, burgers configured incorrectly. It would have required a return trip and all the time involved in sorting it out and awaiting correction. I go to fast food for FAST!
I am tired of going to fast food locations, getting to go orders, and coming home to find them wrong, but the receipt correct. Considering the prices charged by fast food places (now near the cost of a sit-down restaurant), the drop in quality and taste across the valley at all fast food locations, and inability to get to-go orders correct, I think I'll start planning better and make my own.
Yes, I could check before leaving. However, part of any production process is quality control, which includes ensuring the order is correct. It adds time to production/pickup when clients have to start checking their orders before leaving. I see food delivery services do it all the time; I now understand why.
They shouldn't have to check, nor should I be required to do so since my receipt was right.
This incorrect order is on Five Guys, and their lack of quality control. Had it been busy, it would still be no excuse, but we walked right in and placed the order. No line, no customer rush, late at night.
Shame, I do enjoy burgers from many places, including theirs, but it's just...
ย ย ย Read moreI love Five Guys burgers and Cajun fries. Every time I order, I order online, I order at least 20 minutes in advance; I click the "on my way link" and the "I'm here" link. I wait in my car for like 10 minutes and I go in. Every time, they act like they have no idea what I'm talking about when I say I'm there to pick up my order. They do some things on the system and then they find it and make it. I wait patiently the whole time. Why have those options if it doesn't change anything?
A few weeks ago, I ordered online, paid and my bf went to pick it up. Again, I clicked "on my way" as he left and "I'm here" when he text me that he'd arrived. He went in and again, they acted like they had no idea what he was talking about. I screen shot the email with my name, the location, the order number, the order, the time the order was placed (which was like an hour -45 minutes before he left) and the confirmation of the payment. He showed them and they didn't do anything. All they did was tell him that they don't know. They didn't just make it , they just said that they didn't know. My bf sat there for over 30 minutes and nothing was done. I called the store and was very nice, I explained and asked for a refund. The manager apologized and refunded my money after reluctantly offering it remake the order. At that point, we didn't want to wait any longer as we were both starving and my bf was so frustrated that he didn't want to go back. The food is good but the service is terrible. I try to be mindful that there are staffing shortages and such but this was just so...
ย ย ย Read moreLet me say... I love me some Five Guys. The burgers are awesome and the fries are tasty (and plentiful). That said... I went for the first time in about 9 months today. I live in Nampa and don't get out to Eagle around lunch very often. Anyway, the burgers and fries still rock... HOWEVER, MY GOD the prices are just not acceptable. They were expensive before, but after their latest price increases, they've managed to price themselves right out of the market (for me). I won't be returning anytime soon. $8.50+ for a "Bacon Cheeseburger". $5.50 for large French Fries + $1.70 for a bottle of water. That comes to $15.70 total ... just for me to eat. With my wife an 9 year old son the total came to $35.22. THIRTY FIVE BUCKS for 3 burgers 1 regular fries, 1 large fries and 3 waters. For THIRTY FIVE BUCKS I could have gone to Red Robbin, had just about any of their burgers, unlimited fries, and just about any drink PLUS paid the tip. THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS for two adults and a child to eat? That's just not going to cut it with my family. Sorry Five Guys... i do love your burgers but I am not paying that kind of scratch for fast food. Never again. I'll go to Habit Burger or Frugals (which would have been HALF the cost... literally... HALF.). You guys are pricing yourselves out of existence IMHO. (I just lowered by previous score from 4 to 3 because of the just not acceptable...
