Walked in and my party was seated immediately. They weren't busy at all on this Thursday night, many empty tables. First time here. We had friends visiting from out of state so we took them to the Village and then decided to eat here for dinner. After being seated it took 7 min before anyone came to our table to offer drinks. After a few min we ordered our pizzas. 30 min later our Pizza's came out. After taking a bite they had made our pizza wrong. They put on Red sauce and not the garlic white like I ordered. Our friends pizza was fine. So, when the server came by (which was only 4 times, being seated, drinks, order problem and bill) I told her that we got red sauce instead of the white sauce like I ordered. She said we ordered the red. I said, no, I ordered white. Even our guests at our table said I ordered white. I felt embarrassed because she made me feel like it was my mistake and not hers. Definitely not the way to treat a customer. I guess the old phrase "the customer is always right" doesn't exist in this establishment. So, she said she could have another one made in 5 min. FIVE MINUTES?? It took them 30 min to get the first incorrect pizza brought to our table! I told her no. We didn't feel like eating later than our friends because they would have been done with their meal by the time our correct order was served. Quality? Pizza was lukewarm, ordered extra cheese and it seemed a normal amount to us and not extra. Way too much sauce (again, not the sauce ordered). Pizza had LOTS of crust. A large slice only gave about 5 bites with cheese and very MINIMAL amount of toppings. The crust was abundant and was dry, hard and burnt. Very disappointing. I should have checked the reviews before coming here. So, after finishing, the server brings the bill. There was no offer/discount for their mistake or even another apology. Server stood there with her electronic held bill tablet waiting for me to pay along with her tip with her watching. Even with all this I felt obligated to tip her. I don't know why I tipped her 18% for taking our order and someone else dumping off the incorrectly made pizza. I did say to her that it would have been nice to eat the pizza we ordered. She then said, I thought you said red and it's very noisy in here!! Still NO apology!! The place was only like 25% full! It was just a horrible experience. Never eating here again. Such a waste of $55.00. Garbage pizza. Store bought frozen Tombstone Pizza would have tasted better. Don't waste your time or hard earned money. I don't know why some people like this joint....
Read moreThe pizza is usually good here but the way it’s managed, I just cannot bring myself to go here anymore unfortunately. I was so excited seeing a Grimaldi’s when coming from Brooklyn, but it is completely different because of the owner. The first time we went it was ok. Service was slow but it wasn’t terrible, just confusing because it was about a good 3 tables actually sat. Then they gave us a 5$ voucher for the next time because of the wait which was so nice but then the next time we went there was no service at all. This time they were busier then usual which is like 5 tables sat and my husband, 2 kids and me were sat waiting outside for 30 mins before we decided to get up and go to yard house. The next time I decided to just call in an order to which they got new register computers, so when I walked in to pick it up, the just started it because the front desk girl didn’t know how to put it in the new computer and had to work with the manager, to which I didn’t mind because I know they can get confusing but I shouldn’t have to wait so long to bring dinner back to my family. It was on Monday so I expected mangia Monday seeing as if every Monday I get an email saying 12$ for dine in and to go for 16 in pizzas but when the pizzas finally came out, I got an extra and was charged for two full priced ones and I explained, I only ordered two and that I ordered for the mangia Monday and so he said well no, we will charge regular and you can have the third free. Which is not my problem they handed me a third. I didn’t need three pizzas but it’s fine. I said nothing and then the front desk lady who is more of a manager or owner then anyone in the establishment handed me another 5$ voucher for the next time I dine in. Which was gonna be never but then somehow I convinced my husband let’s give them another chance last night so I ordered an online order at 3pm. I went in at 3:45pm and they told me it wont be ready until 4:30pm because they are open but they are doing a stocking process which essentially is inventory during working hours which made no sense but I sucked it up and so I came back at 4:30pm, had to wait while the owner just stared at me from across the room, then finally a waiter asked the name my order was under and i got handed three cold pizzas that were completely burnt underneath. We were only coming back for the pizza because the ownership was terrible but now that the pizza is not edible, we cannot go back. I really wish it was managed differently because I would love to just order...
Read moreThis was hands down the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. From start to finish, the staff acted unprofessional, inattentive, and flat-out disrespectful.
When we arrived on Friday, 8/29 around 8:30pm, the host didn’t even look at us for several minutes—just stared at the computer, no greeting, no smile, nothing. When she finally spoke, all she said with a blank face was, “Just two?” She then disappeared for nearly 10 minutes before coming back and telling us to “just sit at the bar.”
At the bar, things somehow got worse. We sat there for 20 minutes—timed on my phone—without being acknowledged. No water, no greeting, nothing. I even asked the host if someone was going to help us, but she was too busy glued to her phone to care.
When the bartender finally came over, the first words out of her mouth were not “Hi, how are you” or any form of greeting. Instead, it was a cold “IDs please.” That was her opener after 20 minutes of being ignored. I’ve been a bartender for over a decade, and this approach is the definition of terrible service.
I told her I didn’t have a physical ID on me, and instead of handling the situation professionally, she immediately barked: “I can’t serve you, I’ll lose my job.” Not once, not twice—she repeated this phrase over and over like a broken record. No empathy, no tact, no effort to find a solution. Just excuses.
At that point, I told her to stop repeating herself and to focus on what she could do. But that didn’t matter, because once we moved to a table, she ignored us again for another 10 minutes. We eventually left because we were literally abandoned by the staff.
The restaurant was NOT busy. This was not a matter of being short-staffed—it was a matter of pure neglect, zero communication, and employees who clearly do not care about their jobs. Pull your cameras between 8:30–9:15pm that night if you doubt this.
This was disgusting and unacceptable. My company was considering using this place for catering, but after this disaster we went with Chicago Fire instead. This staff—especially the bartender—desperately needs training on customer service, conflict resolution, and basic professionalism.
An absolute joke of an experience....
