UPDATE (2nd Visit): Came here again for the second time. Here are some additional points I'd like to touch on, this is just an addition to my initial review.
I said it before, I'll say it again, this place gets PACKED on weekends. They actually don't allow reservations anymore on the weekend (could be viewed as good or bad, up to you). We (party of 2) came at 11AM on a Sunday, got put on the list, and actually sat down at 12:00PM (60 minute wait). This was just for 2 PEOPLE! Ordered food at 12:05 PM, received it at 12:35 PM (30 minute wait). I wouldn't have been as upset as I was if it wasn't for the fact that a party of 4 sat next to us 5 minutes after we sat down, and they got all their food prior to us. Apparently Moe Joe's is actively trying to expand their operations and get a bigger restaurant, so the wait issue should be resolved sometime in the future, but I'm still taking a star away for this.
If you're planning on eating here on the weekend, I'd say come here after 12. They close at 2PM, and from both the times we've visited this place, right after 12 is when all the tables are cleared up and there is literally no wait.
Food was just as good the second time around as it was the first. If you're ordering a breakfast meal that comes with toast, I'd HIGHLY recommend substituting the toast and paying an extra $2 for their Cinnamon Roll French toast side. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE. You can also substitute the toast and pay an extra $1 for a pancake, which was also very tasty actually, but that French toast side is just unreal. I included all pictures of the food (meals, French toast side, pancake, etc) for reference.
INITIAL REVIEW (1st Visit): This place gets SUPER packed in the morning on the weekends. We came here on a Sunday around 12:30, and only had about a 10 minute wait. Inside is a little small, but feels cozy and modern. Good lighting, especially if you sit next to the front windows. Can get a little loud at times, just depends if there are a lot of kids eating.
Their menu is very unique, and has lots of breakfast choices. Since this was our first time, we decided to get The Smokehouse Hash and Garden Hash. Both were VERY tasty, and super fresh (Garden Hash especially). The portions were just right, I have a very high metabolism and can usually just keep on going on food, but after eating The Smokehouse Hash, I felt just right. I also ordered a side order of fruit, and it was fresh as well. It's a good dessert option in my opinion, but it didn't look as good as someone else's fruit cup that they posted a picture of on here. Mine didn't have the melons, or as much blueberries.
There's plenty of parking here (it's kind of in a business / strip mall type of area where there's shared parking between the businesses). Service was good, no complaints really.
I feel like this place is very unique, in terms of the food and the way it's presented. I REALLY enjoyed this place. Although Steve's Cafe will always have a place in my heart, I feel like Moe Joe's is tastier / healthier. You do get a better bang for buck at Steve's Cafe (they really give you a lot of food), but Moe Joe's really is something special. 5 stars EASY & YOU BETTER BELIEVE I'M COMING...
Read moreI went to Moe Joe's for the first this past Sunday and let me tell you that I was very impressed. The service was great, our waitress was very kind and attentive.
We had to try their Orage Juice Mimosa, they were okay. It wasn't well balanced, it had more champagne then orange juice (which isn't a bad thing). But for a Mimosa to taste good and enjoy it, there has to be a balance in the ingredientes. My friend had to put a bit more orange juice in theirs to actually enjoy it more.
We ordered their smokedhouse hash, the Idaho potato nacho, pancakes (which are huge and the flavor it had was amazing), and the Egg Florentine. Overall the flavor of each dish was delightful.
The Smokehouse hash had a variety of meats combined with the egg, veggies, and chipotle sauce which brought everything together. My taste buds were going crazy because of how well all the ingredients were combined.
The Idaho Potato Nacho at first sounded like an imitation of a regular nacho plate. But oh how wrong I was, it did not have tortilla chips, it was a mix of crumbled bacon, green chilies, fresh jalapeño, cheddar and Monterey jack cheese atop of potatoes. Finished with fresh salsa, cilantro, sour cream, avocado and lime. It was very good that you couldn't stop eating even if you were full.
Lastly the Egg Florentine, my friend ordered the full size which comes with 2 eggs. If you get the half size it would be just 1 egg, which you have the choice to either have it the way it comes as poached egg or they will make it the way you like your egg, my friend did it sunny side up. It comes with Spinach, roasted garlic, mushrooms, and tomatoes atop a toasted English muffin and topped with hollandaise. My god, the flavoring that dish had was to die for. That hollandaise sauce was the cherry on top of a sundae, without it I doubt the flavoring would be the same.
If there were more stars to give, I would gladly give it to Moe Joe's. Not only was the food great, the service was outstanding and the pricing of the meals were very reasonable on the amount they give you. The only down fall is that it closes at 2pm and there is only 1 location, but they are always open 7 days a week.
If I had to choose a breakfast place to each, Moe Joe's would be my first choice over any other...
Read moreMy husband and I have been eating at Moe Joe's since we moved to Idaho. It was our main breakfast eatery. Not anymore. Our experience there today was the deal breaker and we won't be returning. My husband has been very ill. We had just come from him having more tests and wanted to have a nice breakfast in our favorite place. You know, something familiar and normal. We were seated in the booth in the corner next to the patio door. When the waitresses go in and out to the patio a gust of wind blows over the table. There was only one table being served on the patio so it wasn't unpleasant, at first. It became unpleasant as more people were seated on the patio. The door was constantly being opened and blowing directly on us. This would be bad enough for anybody but worse for my husband. He gets chilled easily. He will wear a jacket but this was blowing on us in gusts. I went and asked the hostess if we could be moved, explained about the wind and that my husband is ill. Her response was to ask me if we had already ordered. I told her we had but did not have our food yet. She said that we could not be moved as we had already ordered. Now, she did say she would go check but I don't know who she spoke with as she didn't speak with me after. I saw our waitress going to our table with the food and I went to speak with her. Was told the same thing. "We cannot move you to another table after you have ordered" . My husband said, "I'm ill". Nope, wouldn't move us. Very disappointing and disheartening. That booth is unsatisfactory for anyone let alone someone who is not feeling well. The gusts of wind (it wasn't windy outside, opening and closing the door does it), flies coming in, and it made our food cold right away. There's really nothing this establishment could tell me that would justify doing this to a...
