I was on my way to lunch in Meridian today. I haven't had my caffeinated beverage yet so I stopped into Primitive Grounds.
It was on the corner in this neighborhood. I almost missed it when I turned the corner. I have never been to a coffee food truck type stand before. It's a pretty cool set up. Walking up, I see there's plenty of outdoor seating. Pretty potted flowers. It was nicely shaded at the stand so it easy to read thier menu boards. They offer a ton of drinks and baked goodies. As much as I wanted to step out of the box, I got my usual Americano.
I appreciate that they have organic syrups here. They even have sugar free organic syrups . I have been to a couple local coffee joints who only serve organic syrups with no sugar free options. You feel almost frowned upon for even asking. Primitive Grounds is not the case! They offer 3 sugar options. So, today was my normal small iced americano with sugar free vanilla and cream. I got my drink ordered by the sweet gal behind the window and checked out the menu while it was being made.
Wow! I got an an amazing americano today. It was balanced in espresso, vanilla and cream. The coloring was perfect! You can tell by looking at it that the espresso wasn't watered down. It had the perfect amount of half and half. I did add a couple of blue packets, I do like my drink sweeter. Perfection!
It was great stopping at this little local coffee joint. The staff was really sweet! The venue is chill and nice. I appreciate the shaded areas so the sun isn't beating down on you while you're enjoying your drink. They pushed out a fabulous iced americano. I look forward to coming back if I'm ever in the area again. A must go to for your caffeinated drink if you're...
Read moreJust came to this shop the other day. I thought that the pastries and cake pops were amazing. I ordered the kouin amaan and a biscoff cake pop. I’m also aware that these are outsourced through different people. So commenting on primitive grounds coffee as a whole, not my favorite. It’s was extremely bitter the first time I came in and extremely sour this past time. I have worked in a few coffee shops and know what a good shot is and this place just completely missed the bar for me. Adding onto that, the customer service felt extremely fake and backhanded. I also overheard 2 employees talking about her being a lesbian? Made me extremely uncomfortable and I thought it was extremely unprofessional. Against my better judgment I still got a coffee. I will not be returning to this shop and I don’t recommend it to anyone really. Overall it’s unprofessional, not the best coffee, not to mention way over priced, and it doesn’t seem under good management. Solid try for sure!
Edited: just went through the reviews and cross checked them and the responses were all chat gbt curated. This shows how personable the owner...
Read moreThis cute coffee truck popped up in our neighborhood a few months and my husband and I have come at least 3 times a week since!
They pay very close attention to detail with their coffee and I truly think it is better than anything in the area. If you’re not feeling coffee, they also have a variety of smoothies, lemonades, matcha, and kombucha.
The atmosphere is very relaxing and inviting. A lot of work has been done over the past few months to make it even more comfortable including more shade, misters, and additional seating.
The staff is very kind and thoughtful. We order online frequently, and they will wait to pour my husbands drip coffee until he gets there so it is nice and hot. Rose, the owner, always greets us and chats with us for a bit when we all have time. She puts in a lot of effort to get to know not only her customers, but her community.
Bonus: They give out free pup cups for Primitive Pups (as well as water bowl and come chew toys). Cleo LOVES a good walk to the local...
