The carne asada was pretty good here. The flavoring is delicious. It is served with yellow rice, beans and a small side salad. The pork with grilled onions was pretty tasty as well. The cheese pupusa was delicious. The margarita here was awesome served in a big margarita glass if you ask for a Grande. The Frozen margarita is also very good and pretty potent. Great frozen margarita!!!
Chicken a la crema is chicken with mushroom cream sauce on top. It was just okay in flavor. Carnitas with onions was good. Slightly on the salty side. Chicken empanadas were just okay in flavor and texture. Chicken quesadillas were really good. Cheesy and flavorful.
We came back and had New York steak strip with two shrimps on top. It was pretty good. The sopa de res is a beef soup with vegetables, potato, yuca, carrots and beef rib. It comes with two big piece of beef rib and served with either tortilla or yellow rice.
The fried fish was just okay. The fish does not seem very fresh, It was crispy but also needed to be flavored better. Hardly has much flavoring.
You can take advantage of the happy hour menu or late night menu starting at 9:00 p.m. Margarita and a large glass (grande) is $9.95! Margarita tastes pretty decent.
The fried ice cream is delicious very interesting ball of vanilla ice cream in a pastry bowl with chocolate syrup...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I could give a higher rating but unfortunately not this time. The customer service was great, and the restaurant was small but clean so thatās why I gave 2 stars. But the price and food quality was not equal. We ordered shrimp and steak fajitas, a quesadilla, fresh guacamole, and queso.
Iāll start with the chips and salsa, which tells me enough about the restaurant before I even order. The chips were really thin and stale and the salsa did not seem authentic and was nothing special.
The queso was not authentic either, both it and the salsa seemed cheap and store bought. It was very thin and drippy, not satisfying at all.
The fajitas were good, but contained only 4 shrimp and was priced around $24. The refried beans seemed to come from a can.
The fresh guacamole was great, just had to add some lime juice to it and a bit of pepper.
My daughter seemed to enjoy her cheese quesadilla, so no complaints there.
Also I remember the food taking a while to come out even though there was only one other table.
Overall, I canāt say this was an authentic Mexican restaurant. I donāt think the owners would serve the same food to their families. I just moved to Falls Church and am looking for a great authentic Mexican restaurant as itās my favorite cuisine, so Iām still looking, but I most likely wonāt be returning to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to like this place but the last 3 times in a row have been a problem with them getting the orders wrong. Normally, its something I can have them fix there or its not that big of a deal, but tonight... they've surely lost a customer. I paid for a steak fajita and was given chicken. I called and asked for a refund. I paid online using their website, but was told they can't refund it for online orders, I have to come in. Now this is the problem, I moved and now live an hour away. Unfortunately, I did not discover their mostake until I got home just now. The part that upsets me is why are they taking online orders from their website if they can't manage the website? There's no phone number to call and get this resolved, just drive 2 hours out of my day to be refunded for what I did not receive. When I say the last 3 times have been an issue, that's not the only tines I've had issues, it's just a lot of issues all in a row. It doesn't make sense. The topper is they're not apologetic or anything. It's just like we can refund you in cash if you come back. That's it. So I'm done. I now have to spend time on the phone with my credit card company so they can refund it because these business owners are doing a poor job of managing...
