First time in with my wife tonight, and it will be our last. I will never come here again. Ordered cheese curds, never got them. Was charged for them. Asked to see an itemized bill and was given a hard time about it. Got the item removed that we never got after asking a few times. Our server GABE was ABSOLUTELY freaking HORRIBLE even after we told him it was our first time in. You think that would have been your time to step it up a notch to ensure you get a repeat customer, BUT you didn't. Literally took our order, didn't bring everything to us but charged us for it. Brought one refill to the table for ONE person, even though there were two of us at the table. Not to mention the couple of HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS that I saw while we were here. Servers are NOT supposed to have painted fingers nails. This dude's nails were power blue. The table wasn't cleaned very well before we sat down. The paper towel roll had bbq sauce on it. I mean, at least take the time to clean the table if you aren't going to check on people. The service was so HORRIBLE that this was the second time in my life that I didn't leave a tip for a server. That should be enough to make you realize that you are HORRIBLE at your job.

My 1st time at this place, and the worst service ever. If i could give it 0 stars, i would. Sat at the bar, me and my roomate. Waited 5 min before the BAR-BACK/BUSSER stopped what he was doing, ran over to greet us when no one behind the bar even looked in our direction. He took our drink orders, and gave us menu's and silverware. 15min later, and a refill from the bar back later, the actual person working there takes our order. 15min later our food comes, delivered by someone else. No napkins, no bbq sauce offered by anyone...bar back steps back in, hands us extra napkins, and brings a sauce basket over. Thanks again man!! A 3rd refill by same bar back...25min into our meal, bar worker checks on us. Another 10min for her to pick up our check. Needless to say...the bar back should be the bar server since we got the best service from him and not either of the 2 workers or 2 managers that kept popping back in the bar section. If you want great service, please see Brando!! He was the ONLY reason we stayed. **photo shows where the workers spent a majority of their time

This location has really gone down hill since my last visit. The service was great, the food was quick. But I feel that my pork was sitting out all day, it was dry and most of it was burnt. It took me some time to notice that my pork was burnt because it came out covered in BBQ sauce (likely to hide the blackened char). I told the server that I was unhappy about how crispy and crunchy my pork was, so they got me a new one. When the second pork came out it was also covered in sauce, I moved it and saw a few very charred pieces. Very disappointed. I ordered the sweet potato souffle for the first time. Since it was my first time ordering this item from this restaurant, I am not sure if the taste was standard. The sweet potato souffle was bland and the marshmallows were raw. I have never had raw marshmallows on sweet potatoes before, it was extremely underwhelming. The purpose of my visit was to try the food before making a large catering order. Needless to say that I am still looking for a caterer for my event.

UPDATE Just spoke to the general manager Chris at famous Dave's in Mesa. He listened to me regarding our experience that we had a few weeks ago at the Dobson location. He was a very pleasant and understanding general manager. I understand there are bad days and no restaurant is perfect but after talking to him we will be back and I know we will end up enjoying the next experience when we go. Chris, thank you very much for listening to me and talking to me.

After talking to Chris I have adjusted my star review to four stars. Depending on my next experience there, like I said, which I know will hopefully be way better I will adjust my star to five again.

We usually love going to FD BBQ but yesterday was so bad. We sat at the bar and this was our experience.

Youngish bartender took 15 minutes to ask us what we would like to drink. Mind you there was only 7 people sitting at the bar and 1 two person table with 2 people. All the other people had there food and drinks.

Took an additional 15 minutes before he took our order.

When our food finally arrived the food was cold and the grits were hard as a rock. I could literally pick up the whole thing of grits with my fork and it did not fall off.

Ask to speak to manager and requested a side of butter and ranch, which I already told him I wanted when I ordered. The bartender said okay and then he proceeded to walk away and I noticed that he was starting to pick up menus left on tables and the bar and then started cleaning and then started talking to other people and now 20 minutes has passed and still nothing. I finally had to go up to the host and ask for my sides of butter and ranch so I can at least eat my lunch which was horrible. I again then ask the bartender to speak to manager and he said okay. About 30 minutes later he finally brought us our check and still no manager. My husband was so upset that he just did not want to be there anymore and so we left..

I don't know if we will ever go back. We have been going there since the first day they open doors in Phoenix.

Do better famous Dave's or you're going to continue losing business and then your doors will be shut for good. It was a very sad and horrible...

My husband and I made the ill-fated decision to dine at this Famous Dave's before heading to Cinemark to catch a movie. To my profound dismay, it was my idea to go there, and boy, do I deeply regret that choice. The moment I stepped foot in the restaurant, the male host completely disregarded me and instead, directed his attention to my white husband. It's worth noting that my husband was wearing a veteran shirt from one of the colleges I attend.

The white male host had the audacity to inquire about the location of the community college my husband's shirt represented. My husband, not being very familiar with my college, turned to me for an answer. As I began to respond to my husband's question, this incredibly impolite and ignorant host, who also happened to be a veteran himself, decided to interrupt me and launch into a discussion about a fundraiser he was involved in. I couldn't help but think to myself, "What an utter moron."

Let it be known that I am the veteran in this situation, a retired black female sergeant who has served and been deployed in the Army. Astonishingly, this ignorant male host did not even recognize my existence as a person, let alone acknowledge my military service. If this male host truly had any military background, he would have understood that every military organization comprises a diverse group of proud Americans from all walks of life, all dedicated to serving our great nation.

The white male host, whose name I did not catch, ought to stick to his job of seating guests and refrain from promoting his so-called bicycle fundraiser. If he did indeed serve in the military, which I highly doubt, he should have learned that all military personnel are trained to treat others with dignity and respect.

I am writing this review to shed light on this individual's ignorant behavior and its reflection on his place of employment. I would like to commend our server, who was truly exceptional, and the quality of the lunch we enjoyed, which was great. However, the host desperately needs training on how to be a decent American and a respectful all...

I was emailed that my $10 rewards were about to expire. I told the girl about the rewards. She mentions I need the app however I've Never had the app and have been sent rewards every yr. I asked how else to get my rewards I didn't have the app plus I tried downloading it rt there and theres an error. She repeated I need the app. I asked for the Mng. Dan finally comes blankly asking what I needed. I explained I never had to use and app before plus has had issues the past 3x at this location with various things. Dan only blinks and gives a dry 'ok' on everything I say. Even his "happy Birthday" was more sarcastic than sincere. He asked how I get notified of rewards if I dont have the app so as I'm showing him my emails on my phone Dan all the while is saying no its on the app no well the app the app. 11/15mins later after trying to upload the app again the Girl finally says "I can take your phone number". I'm confused as of this point because she nor the Manager Dan could do that in the beginning of all this, so I said 'huh'? They Both had the nerve to get louder in their tone leaning towards me and repeated "we can take your phone number and look up your account". I gave my phone number and right away Girl says "oh yes there's rewards for $8 and $10. Which one do you want to use?" Like REALLY?!! All you had to do take my number?? They Both were sooo persistent in it has to be from the app All while being Condescending and sarcastic in their tone, however she could have taken my number and eliminated all of that! They Clearly did not care to Service me. I drive 20miles ONE WAY JUST to come to this restaurant to be treated in such disregard! I work 3 jobs I spend my Hard Earned money at Famous Daves at least once/twice monthly to be treated with such disregard. Dan had a COMPLETE lack of empathy and the Girl who has been working there for years sarcasm is Completely unnecessary and unacceptable! 3 stars just because the food is decent. I will goto Stacy's off the Hook BBQ before I come spend money here again. I am Sure Famous Daves...
