I love this place. This place loves me!
One of a kind restaurant; I’ve never been able to get top tier authentic Thai food in a tapas format and excellent cocktails under the same roof. This place is better than it has any reason to be.
The drinks are properly crafted to perfection. I can recommend the Tang Gua and the Yord Mauy Thai. 10/10, bring some friends!
All the food we’ve had has been excellent. I highly recommend the Moo Ping Kra (grilled pork), Kareem Jeeb (pork&shrimp dumplings), and the Ghai Todd (fried chicken), as well as the papaya salad if you’re a fan.
Also, you know a seal of authenticity is deserved if they dedicate a small section of the menu to educate you on Prik Nam Pla, which is the greatest table condiment for us heat lovers (or for anyone, really).
The owner is really nice and friendly, and gives great recommendations. He really knows what pairs well with each other. Genuinely cares about his patrons.
Very unique establishment, I highly recommend a date night here. Dinner, drinks, then head over and see a movie at the...
Read moreFirst time here as I had this on my ‘Go to try’ list for awhile. A recommendation from a coworker who had told me about this restaurant. I started with the dumplings (Kanoom Jeeb) that were unique, and pretty good. They’re not sealed up like other dumpling. Five came with the order, and they were of good size. The sauce was fine; and yet they had other sauces that caught my attention. The fish sauce was okay… the garlic sauce had a good spicy kick for me. The entree I chose was the Spicy Pad Thai (Shrimp) that was good. Only plaints I have to share is they keep the tails on. I don’t like chewing on the shell. And they were a little overcooked. Be aware if you order anything with shrimp. All-in-all my lunch was good. Service was fine. The restaurant is a bit cramped. The bathroom is clean. With the nicer weather they have seating outside. Lastly, I had to try their coconut gelato 🍨 and it was a nice finish. Bits of coconut in the creamy goodness of gelato. I definitely recommend coming here to try their food,...
Read moreFinally found good Thai food in Mesa! My wife and I are originally from NYC and we'd never found a place that could replace our favorite Thai restaurant there... until now. This place has food that at least seems authentic to us, and it's very fresh and tastes homemade. I got the dumplings and green curry; my wife got the papaya salad and pad thai. Those are basically the dishes we use to test Thai restaurants, and they all tasted exactly as we'd hoped and would expect from a good Thai restaurant. Very nicely presented too. No other Thai restaurant that we've tried here has really achieved that. (A couple have come close, or did it once or twice but are just inconsistent. But all four of our dishes were perfect at Mae-Khong.)
Excellent service too - we didn't catch our server's name (an oversight on our part) but she went through basically the entire menu for us, and also explained everything about the different sauces she brought over as seasoning for our dishes.
We will...
