Mi Amigos — Restaurant in Mesa

Ok...I have no idea why I haven't gone here in 16 years...NO CLUE! I went to Mesa High School (less than a block away). BUT my reservations were taking too long for me at a nearby restaurant, so we left for Mi Amigo's. What a surprise! The chips & salsa, were really good; the chips were light & crispy (not a fan of thick chunky chips). The salsa was about a 7.5, but the chips made up for that; definitely ask for salt. I had a Chicken Chimichanga Enchilada Style (green sauce), with rice & beans. Pretty tasty, needed a bit more green sauce (ask for a bit on the side); they are not generous on the sauce. My sister had the Chicken Enchiladas with green sauce with rice & beans. She enjoyed them, and was pleasantly surprised too. My nephew had the Carne Asada Burrito (he is a picky Gen Z, super annoying about food) but he said he loved the taste of the meat, seasoned well.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this over Sombrero's, Serrano's and even Garcia's. I am a bit picky about Mexican Food, but I would give this a solid 4.5 for taste.

I used to Love going to this location , but just had the worse experience with Manager Oscar.. I advised Oscar '' about a called in order yesterday and all I got from him was excuses . I advised Oscar.. That I ordered 2 Chicken cesar salads they come with tortilla chips and cheese on top plus some cilantro on top.. He made nothing but excuses about salads will look different next day I advised him . I understand that and I have eaten salads from there the next day and were just as delish as if I would get and eat the same day . the manager Oscar, tried to say that they might have put this different cheese on it cero cheese . I advised him that not what I ordered was suppose to be chicken salad.. He continued to make excuses . and was rude . he said "" well ok what do u want me to do about it . . I advised him I wanted my money bck . at this point i didn't want credit as rude as this manager was I will No Longer go to this location I've been a loyal customer of this location and especially the one in phoenix .. I referred a lot of my co workers and family to this location.. I will for sure advise them of what accured this monday. So people beware if u call in orders make sure to check u receive...

Reserved the banquet room for our clubs final meeting. We paid the $50 non-refundable reservation fee for the room several weeks in advance but were not told that we had to have a MINIMUM of 20 people to have the buffet for our meeting, but would still be required to pay the 20% gratuity for using the room. We decided to go ahead and pay as if we would have 20 people (even though we would only have 16 that RSVP'd) which would leave leftovers to take home. The food was room temperature at best. The ONE SERVER assigned to the banquet room only came into the room 3 times max during the 1.5 hours we had reserved the room. Never cleared any plates, silverware, etc from the tables. We had asked to have the music volume for the banquet room lowered (which never happened) since we were passing out awards and had to maneuver around dishes left on the tables. The 20% tip was $76 which was definitely not earned at all. The manager, assistant manager, shift manager, etc. NEVER came in to check on on us either. We would recommend checking out other locations for your event before deciding to have it...
