Unfortunately, my family will no longer be customers at this location. On this last Tuesday, 06-04-24, we had a terrible service experience. On our way in, we saw that the sign said “Taco Tuesday $2.99” and asked if this applied to soft tacos as well as crunchy tacos. Our waitress said both. However, upon seeing how much was processed for the check, we realized we did not receive the taco deal. She argued with me, telling me I was referring to the combos, which I was not. I already knew the combos could be for soft or crunchy tacos. My whole family with me witnessed me asking her about the Tuesday taco deal. Why would I ask about something else on a TACO TUESDAY?!?! She NEVER told me the special only applied to “street tacos” when we were ordering. Why would anyone pay $2.99 for a small street taco? The sign did not state that.
We asked for the manager, but before we could talk to him, she had pulled him aside telling him “her side.” Instead of coming alone to our table to assist us, the “manager” brought her with him and proceeded to allow her to argue with me. Very unacceptable customer service and management conduct!! He also said he didn’t have the power to change the price after it was already paid for. That was ridiculous! Who is a manager that can’t fix or adjust things correctly. And…why on earth would a waitress argue with a customer and expect a tip. You charged $88.98 for a family’s meal that should have been almost half that. I’m incredibly disappointed. I have never received such terrible service at a Moreno’s before. We are honest people and we tip well. Sadly, because we were so overcharged and the waitress was so rude, we did not leave a tip.
When I told the manager that we would not return to this restaurant due to the way this was handled, he did not even remotely care. He even snidely said, “Okay, that’s good.”
We have been coming to this restaurant for several months now and also telling people how good this Moreno’s location is. We have now just stated to our friends and family the opposite. They are dishonest, overpriced, and do not honor their own specials.
I sure hope that the ownership and management will take care of business and get rid of the bad apples giving your restaurant a...
Read moreStopped in here while visiting the area because it was highly recommended by locals. It has a BEAUTIFUL outdoor seating area. They start you out with chips and salsa like so many Mexican restaurants but they also give you verde. Those were both good but what really makes this places chips and salsa different is their bean dip! Really good! They bring some out and you can also request a 4oz or 8oz portion to share with the table. I should mention that the chips, they are placed in a tortilla chip warmer (pictured). They come out warm and super fresh! If you’ve ever been to an Uncle Julio’s, they’re just like that. Very very good!!
Food here was very good. Some of the asada was maybe a tiny bit on the dry side but not bad. Fairly authentic Mexican flavors! The rice was spot on, just like the wife makes! My Morano Burrito (red sauce) plate was very good and had a decent kick to it. I love spicy food but if you don’t, order with caution. Portion sizes are in the “bring your appetite” category. Very generous!
Service was really good. Our waiter was on the ball for sure. He did a really excellent job of being attentive. The only negative was food auctioning… if you have read some of my other reviews, you’ll know this is one of my pet peeves. When someone brings your food out, they should never have to call it out and have their guests claim it. Especially if it’s your own server. They should be able to place the correct food in front of each person with confidence. There are simple methods that can be utilized to achieve this that take very little effort to perfect.
All in all, a nice Mexican restaurant. I was glad to have experienced it, would...
Read moreRead moreNaw!! Not for us Okay first of all - when you are served chips and salsa are you not offered a plate? We used the paper towels. Salsa - eh not the greatest They came and took our order - food came out fast & warm Husband had the Fajita - meat was pretty slim pick’ins. I had ordered the pollo fundido (asked for it, by itself) BUT you still PAY for FULL PRICE so you mite as well get the rice & beans!! At first I didn’t see any of the white sauce on it, it was covered by the cheese. Very thin. The chicken was quite dry. So we asked the hostess - since she was right there cleaning tables, if she wouldn’t mind asking for some extra sauce. She basically looked stunned or offended and then said “well that is going to cost you more” Well OKAY it needs something since it’s dry. She repeated herself and I said “yes” It needs more sauce. Then she asked me if I wanted 2 or 4 oz more which cost me $5 EXTRA! But here’s the catcher .. he brings me the sauce in a little plastic container COLD -right from the fridge. Oh yeah.. nice & cold for a warm meal! Oh that’s real swift!! Seriously!?? What the heck! I come to sit and try to enjoy a meal that we pay good money for then to top it off extra measly FIVE $$ for this SAUCE to make it taste decent BUT SERVED COLD!!! Honestly we should have left Then the nerve to charge me on TOP OF THAT - THE COST FOR A FULL MEAL WHICH I DIDN'T GET!! SO once I saw the bill I asked our waiter why were were charged for the whole meal?? He shrugged his shoulders I then said well gee if I’m paying for it, I might as well GET MY BEANS AND RICE BEFORE LEAVING!!! Unflipping real!! NOPE NEVER...
