Novel Ice Cream — Restaurant in Mesa

I ate here on vacation and I absolutely hated it. First of all, they weirdly don't advertise a menu of their flavors anywhere so I didn't know what to expect; I just went by reviews I read online which, as usual, was a mistake. The location is terrible; it was very hard to find, located in a small alley with a walk-up window and no seating. You can't actually see the ice cream before buying it since you just walk up to a window. The flavor options listed outside the window were underwhelming, some with non descript names, and had no descriptions listed (how am I supposed to know what a "Leslie Knope" or a "Fat Elvis" is?), so I had to ask them to describe some of the flavors. I asked if I could try samples, and the person working there curtly said, "You can try a couple." Then I was given the smallest possible sample size of ice cream I have ever seen in my life--seriously about the size of my pinky thumb nail and as thin as paper. I couldn't tell anything from it. I found this extremely stingy and off-putting. I have never been to any other ice cream place that behaved like this about samples. I probably should have left at that point, not being able to either see, read a description of, or taste what their ice cream is like (also, their options for toppings were mostly cereal). Instead, I ordered the ice cream donut with the flavor I sampled (something like bourbon caramel crunch). The ice cream itself was very underwhelming; almost no flavor and absolutely no crunch. The donut was fine (standard/what you would expect fot a glazed donut). The overall experience/texture of the ice cream donut was pretty pleasant, but the ice cream itself left a lot to be desired. So I stumbled on this place while googling desserts near me. Most of the reviews were great but I noticed one that wasn’t and very detailed as to why. I saw that the owner had replied but in a very snarky and condescending way. So I decided to test the customers issues for myself. First there s definitely no list of ice cream flavors on the website, staples or not. Second I wouldn’t call it hard to find, but not super easy either. Google takes you to the right area but the sign isn’t visible from the street when you’re driving. The staff definitely seemed a bit annoyed at my questions including asking for one sample. The sample was however normal sized. While I love the donut ice cream combo, there doesn’t seem to be anything special about the ice cream. The owner discounting the other reviewers similar feeling about the ice cream (that other reviewers say as well) because of their other complaints was out of line. Soooooo this place is really cool!! My 18 year old daughter said let's go get this ice cream place. I'm like it's 10pm and she said this place is so cool and they are open tell 1am!! I'm like ok let's go check it out! When we go there I'm like this place is not cool it's so hidden you can barely find it! She said trust me! I shook my head and said OK. When we walked down this tiny business Allie to this window and then this awesome icecream shop was back there!! The icecream was sooooo good!! All the hidden places are the best!! I had a waffle icecream sandwich and my wife had a icecream cone same as my daughter and her boyfriend all of us were happy with our choices! This is a quite trendy place! There was a line before we got there and an even longer line when we left around 11pm. But don't let that discourage you!...
