For the entire concert, security said "back door is for Security only; you gotta use front door." At the end of the concert, everyone (hundreds of people) were trying to mob out the front. Then security stops everyone, and says "the front is locked, you gotta use the back door." (Of course, I told security to "watch me", as I unlocked the door and exited).
Secondly, security patdowns were a joke. Weapons could have easily been brought in; I walked away from patdown (for reason which will remain private) and returned, but security didn't even notice me walk up (I made a conscious effort/choice to "test" security's diligence, plus additional reasoning which will remain private), buy ticket, and then enter. Furthermore, after you enter, you're allowed to leave the venue and return, unchecked. Hypothetical: psycho leaves venue to their vehicle to retrieve a weapon.... you do the math.
Bottom-line: the Company that managed the Deicide concert shouldn't be allowed to operate in Maricopa County (or anywhere else, for that matter) any longer. If aforementioned Company or like-replacement manages a show at this venue, I'll avoid this place (speaking of which, I gotta find out that company's name...).
UPDATE 6/1/22: followup to initial review: I returned to The Nile, after nearly a year, and it's still unclear "who" manages the operation (if not Nile staff). Regardless, they've made improvements on my previous complaints. Firstly, the egress nonsense seems to be resolved; patrons were able to use bona fide access points. Secondly, pat downs improved. They used "wands". However, people were still allowed to leave during intermission and return unchecked. Therefore, my hypothetical "psycho" scenario is still a valid concern. So, 1+2 stars; still -2 due to glaring security deficiency (see Murphy's law...).
UPDATE 5/20/23: The reentry policy has been enhanced. When stepping outside, following the previous security screen (wand), security staff appeared to be diligent with directing concert goers to return to line for "rescreening." This appears to be quite a significant...
Read moreThis place is so confusing. Iâm a 22 year old legal adult, ID checked and everything. I had two hard ciders while I was there and while my friends were moshing a security guard came over and accused me of sharing my alcohol with minors, which never happened. They were not able to provide any sort of proof of the matter nor were they friendly in the slightest. She came over harshly, was rather aggressive as well. I was kicked out almost directly after buying my second drink. They certainly have no problem with letting you buy drinks and tip before taking them from your hands and throwing them away with little to no explanation. I was trying to get a better understanding of it outside because I have never in my life been kicked out of anywhere before so I was obviously sobbing and she was just rude the entire time. This was just such a disappointing waste of money, my friends were the only people moshing they didnât even have time to drink my alcohol. She changed the story up multiple times too. First I was supposedly sharing it and then she switched it up and said I was letting minors hold it when it was in my hand the entire time lol. I also was just crying and asking for a better description of why I got kicked out because I never shared my alcohol and she told me to get out of her alley. She just kept repeating it. At least after reading reviews Iâm not the first person wrongly kicked out by that security lady. I work in customer service, I completely understand the hardships of dealing with people all day long. But maybe we should focus on things that are actually a problem rather than wrongly kicking out somebody for no reason. The venue was not even half way full either so she was clearly just desperately trying to find something to make her day exciting. Even the people around me were saying it wasnât fair and that I didnât let anybody hold my drink....
Read moreThe worst concert venue experience of my life I drove hours away to come see a show just to get kicked out 20 minutes in to the show because I had a vape wasnât even blowing smoke out at all and the guy came up to me and took it and I just gave it him no attitude or nothing. About 5 minutes later I went to use the restroom and as soon as I walked out some big girl with short hair grabbed me and pulled me outside and told me Iâm not aloud back in because I had a vape inside but I had already given it to security like what more do you want me to do. She was being very rude and creepy to begin with and wouldnât let me go back in to get my 15 year old friend all by herself which is very inconsiderate. Just to find out she got injured during the time she was in there because she didnât have a phone on her and she was all by herself. The injuryâs were pretty bad and there was nothing I could do to get back in there and just find her and they made us leave the whole alley area like they owned it. Over a vape. Not to mention that the security was being extremely rude before we even got in there I really hope most of the staff gets fired because they are awful and extremely disrespectful and rude and to grab me to kick me out over a vape I already had given to security which I didnât know I couldnât vape in there was extremely inappropriate I also didnât have a ride home until after the show ended and I felt extremely uncomfortable being outside in that area as a girl and got cat called all night and men trying to give me rides. It was just extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional and unpleasant I recommend never going to this venue unless they hire a better staff. And also I saw and heard kids doing drugs in the bathroom and out on the floor like coke and etc. and that fact no one came up to them or did anything but I get kicked out for having a vape of...
