My wife and I absolutely loved this place. Kurt and Shauna were so accomodating and the Inn is very charming. There are 4 bedrooms and all are very well appointed and decorated beautifully. Two of the rooms are off of the main parlor, one is at the back of the house, and one is downstairs. We stayed downstairs where the room is noticeably cooler than upstairs, which was nice durnig the AZ Summer, and is the largest room. Very private and quiet. There is nothing else downstairs. The other three rooms have outside facing windows, unlike downstairs. So if you like a bright morning and an outside view, you will want to choose one of those. But honestly, you really can't get a bad room. Each is unique and comfortable. We would like to try them all! When I say they didn't miss a thing when decorating this place, I mean it. The amount of thought and detail that went into making sure you have everything to feel at home, I mean that. This place is a show place! (and they are getting ready to have swimming pool put in the backyard and that will be a game-changer for the Summer months. Kurt and Shauna live in a cute little guest house they have built behind the main home that resembles the architecture of the primary home. They had a knack of being invisible most of the time, but right there when you needed something. It was like they were reading my mind! Complimentary drinks and snacks were available in the parlor 24x7 (coffee/tea, local beers, wines, and even some whisky/scotch if you like). There is a complimentary light breakfast available each morning and for-fee options as well. The grounds are immaculate and located about two blocks from the main drag where a plethora of restaurants and local brewhouses and wine bars are located (bikes are available if you don't want to walk it). While not real crowded during the hot Summer months, I am guessing downtown Mesa is popping during snow-bird season. We were blown away by the progress created in this once forgotten downtown area. Needless to say, we highly recommend W2ND Historic Inn and we will definitely be back. But don't tell anyone! :)

Readers digest version is Yes Yes Yes stay here! You will not be disappointed. We loved our stay so much we extended two more days. The inn is stunning. The bed and room are so comfortable. I actually am ordering the sheets they use…..such luxury! Included in our nightly fee was secure parking, coffee, juice, scones, local beers, alcohol and sodas and even sweets. Felt like a five star ‘club level’ floor. And all INCLUDED, so no hidden resort fees. Food is amazing. You think you don’t like scones….until you taste these little treats from heaven. We ordered additional breakfast items every day and were not disappointed. My favorites are the avocado toast and bagel sandwich. But seriously if you miss the scones…you are living a sad sad life. We enjoyed the hot tub, sitting on the various patios and hanging out in the living room to do some work. It is really nice to have a homey atmosphere in our downtime during our vacation. And we can’t wait for the pool to be finished! Cleanliness is such a hot topic during Covid times. We found the inn to be impeccably clean at all times. Both our room, bathroom and all the common spaces. With the small number of guests we felt very safe and better than had we been riding elevators and staying in one of the big chains. Walking, let’s talk distance. Hard to believe there is a place you can stay that allows all kinds of food and entertainment within walking distance. We never moved our car! Walking to museums, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Our hosts Kurt and Shauna had lots of great personal recommendations and we can’t wait to come back when even more breweries open on Main Street (as if we didn’t already get our fill on this visit). As you can see we loved our visit and can’t wait to come back. We highly recommend the West 2nd Historic Inn! If you deserve luxury, then you want to stay here.

By far the best vacation we have taken in many years. We were warmly greeted by Kurt & Shauna upon arrival. They asked if we had any special requests, showed us the complimentary snacks, tea & coffee, and alcohol located throughout the main area of the inn, and offered multiple suggestions for nearby breweries and restaurants (almost all of which we tried, each excellent!). We were then shown to our room - The Romantic - which was absolutely gorgeous. The interior finishes were clearly carefully chosen for each room, and we were thoroughly impressed with how clean everything was. Being a neat freak, this is a rare find when staying away from home. The bed was comfortable, as were the pillows, and there was a gorgeous clawfoot tub in the bathroom. The room also included wi-fi and a television with access to Netflix and Hulu (likely more - we didn't check). Also, the quietness of the Inn cannot be beat by ANY hotel. The following morning we received complimentary fresh scones, coffee, and tea delivered directly to our door at the time of our choosing. The scones were to DIE for - I've never had better. The Inn is within walking distance from Main Street (around only two blocks) which is lined with a number of amazing restaurants and breweries. Additionally, we came to town for a concert at Mesa Amphitheater, which was also within walking distance from the Inn - a huge plus, since concert traffic and parking are often so hectic. In short: The location could not be better, the Inn itself is beautiful and well-kept, and the owners were incredibly kind and welcoming (Kurt even ran out to our car as we were leaving to ask how we enjoyed our stay and how the concert was). We are so incredibly thankful for such a restful vacation. We will certainly be back!
