First time ever going to a Village Inn. It was just two of us.. We got the ultimate breakfast and also the build your own breakfast with two drinks and a pie to go. French toast was extremely bland no nut meg or cinnamon or the other stuff that you'd normally use to make French toast. Hashbrowns were under cooked at the bottom and the top were over cooked. Pancakes a little bland as well they were extremely tiny like kids meal two silver dollars put together small and so was the two eggs that came with both meals they must use small or medium eggs.. Ten minutes after bringing the food the waitress brought out two boxes and the check. (we felt a little rushed) before we ordered we asked if military discount was offered she said yes. We packed up all our food and went to pay. The Supervisor (a female) was extremely rude when we mentioned that the military wasn't added on and she said the server has nothing to so with me so it dosent matter what you tell her. I said im sorry we're new to this estabalishment. she then said that she could cancel the transaction the ring it up again so instead of 38 bucks we'd pay originally it would be another 35 bucks so we paid over 70 bucks total with the discount and you get the other money back in a couple days because they are behind due to covid with processing things she was extremely sassy. Then im assuming man in charge a male husky size chimed in and said hey just give them the discount back in cash easy fix. But then said just so you know its only offered to active duty I replied I know I can show you my military ID for proof. He cracked a joke to the surrounding people and said im just letting you know how we do it its only for active duty. I already knew that much as I was ready and happily available to show him my military ID ๐ Army Strong๐๐พโโ๏ธ. On another note I noticed that after we had gotten the check from our waiter she had never checked on us again ๐ญ. In summary it was my first and last time going to that place ill spend my hard earned money else where. Especially during a pandemic you'd think you would get treated better. Im from the the South and know good hospitality when I see it. And I've traveled a lot they by far have the worst service then all 39 states that ive lived in and traveled to as well. The only plus was the gravy for the country fried steak was amazing who ever made that needs to put that same TLC into the...
ย ย ย Read moreFor most people this is a 5 star eatery for the price level. We had a Mexican breakfast fry that tasted excellent with a better than average pancake stack (bring your own syrup, Village Inn's is nasty). And the Friday all you can eat fish with a side of mashed potatoes. The coal slaw was 5 star for any price level. One of the best I have ever tasted. The mashed potatoes were home made with a hint of butter and making my mouth water as I review the flavors. The French fries were cold but still packed with flavor. As for the fish, most bites were good making a 3 star average. But, the 1 star bites finished my meal early. Had the fish been cut in planks instead of muscle mass it would have been different. The fish "ball" of the planks were tough and tasted old. For the Health Enthusiasts, Village Inn is a no go. We compensated for the MSG, nitrates and who knows what else that Corporate Village Inn ships in their food. We will not be returning because of the health issues from eating there. The workers at this location were all 5 star and high 5's. Would like to see them at restaurants that serve healthier foods. A very much "the customer comes first" group. One last kick in the teeth to Corporate Village Inn. It is December 16 with outside temperatures floating in the 40's even in the low deserts of Arizona. Customers bundled up in coats are not as comfortable eating as those not having to wear a parka and mukluks to stay warm while they eat in your...
ย ย ย Read moreThe WORSE service ever!!! My party was of 5. Three adults one 14 yr old and a 6 yr old. Once we got our orders in it took forever to get the food. My husband and my 14 yr sat for at least 7mins without silverware while their food was getting cold. My dad and I ordered pot pies only to have them cold in the middle...as if they just came out of the frig. Not just one but BOTH of them. We told the waitress who took it back only to to bring it back still cold. I placed my finger in the middle and felt the dam pot pie all around. My dad's was also still cold. I told the waitress that she can take them back and keep them.
She never once offered myself or my dad anything else. Meanwhile the rest of my family continue to eat their food, while my dad and I just sat there. Finally, the manager came out and advised me that she stuck her finger in the pot pie and burnt it. Then gave some excuse that the pot pies are pre made and that they place them in the microwave to heat up. And there must be some cold pockets and there isn't anything they can do about it. However, she took to price of the pot pies off our ticket.
All I can say, never never again will I ever go here again!!! And if you want healthy food, I suggest you...
