🛍️ Superstition Gateway West – Mesa, AZ
Stopped by here while on vacation in Mesa and it turned out to be a really convenient stop. It’s not a tourist attraction by any means, but if you’re traveling and need to stock up, grab a bite, or just browse around, this center covers a lot in one place.
🏬 Big Variety of Stores
The plaza has a solid mix—Walmart, Kohl’s, Marshalls, Old Navy, PetSmart, Michaels, and more. As someone visiting, it was nice to find everything from travel essentials to clothes and snacks in one place without hopping around town.
🍔 Easy Food Options
Plenty of casual spots to eat—Panda Express, Starbucks, Cold Stone, and some other fast-casual choices. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you want if you’re out shopping or just passing through and need something quick.
🚗 Location & Parking
Right off the freeway, so it’s easy to get to. Parking is wide and open, though it does get a little crowded in front of Walmart. Since I was coming from out of town, the accessibility really stood out.
✨ Clean & Organized
For a big shopping center, it was clean and pretty easy to navigate. The open-air layout makes it less stressful than some packed malls, and walking between stores was simple.
👥 Atmosphere
It has that straightforward, suburban shopping vibe—not a place you’d hang out for long, but reliable for errands. As a visitor, I appreciated that I could get in, find what I needed, and get going without hassle.
✅ Overall
If you’re in Mesa on vacation and need to pick up travel supplies, shop for basics, or grab food, Superstition Gateway West is a convenient one-stop option. It’s clean, easy to get around, and has enough variety to cover most needs. Not a destination in itself, but super handy when...
Read moreThe Walmart is the real draw to this shopping center. The amount of traffic in it is crazy most of the time. The reason for the low rating is not the traffic, but the amount of people begging for money at the exits! Most of these people don't look homeless or drity, like they've been living on the streets for a while, but people just out to scam people for money. I've seen the same set of people begging for money to bury their "daughter" on and off for 4-5 months straight. Gladly the panhandlers stay to the exits, but it still brings the entire center down for such a nice area.
That said, there are some truely homeless people that come to this location from time to time, but they are in stark contrast to who is usally there in clean clothes and brand new shoes.
The other drawback to this shopping center is there is only one exit you can turn left at out of it. Left is important if you want to go north to AJ or the freeway. The other 5 exits, you can only turn right. So the signal exit you can turn left at is always really crowded and it takes a while to get out of the shopping center from that exit. If you get caught at that light, you get the pleasure of the panhandlers with their signs and walking down the lanes...
Read moreExcellent variety. A diversified array of smaller shops plus medium to large retail businesses. Walmart, Kohl's, Michael's, AMC theater across the street, InNOut Burger, Subway, etc. A Chevron gas station, Compass and Chase Banks, a decent variety of dining options, and taverens, home furnishings, office supplies etc. Lots of good options, many choices, further supplemented by a brand new Sprouts 1/4 mile North and the many other nice businesses at the nearby intersection of Southern and Signal Butte Rd. (Including a Wendy's, IHOP, Little Cesar's, Hobby Lobby, Firehouse Subs, a dollar store etc.) Quite a convenient location which should easily satisfy most of your shopping needs. A pleasant experience. Much easier to enter and depart than the more well known and much larger shopping malls. The Goldilocks Zone... Just big enough.. but not too big... Thriving and busy, but never congested... Lots of parking and elbow room whether shopping or...
