Cinnaholic — Restaurant in Mesquite

Oh Cinnaholic, how I wish I would have kept on driving... BUT I am very glad I did not! With new bakeries, I love stopping in at the most random time, if they are as great as they say, then their ingredients will be just as great when they are closing for the day as when they are opening for the day, right? 15 minutes until close, we had just picked up dinner for the family, might as well get dessert, am I right? My daughter and I go into Cinnaholic, knowing they may be a little frustrated and ready to go home, however it was quite the opposite! I was greeted by a fantastic group of teens who were eager to help, I was a bit overwhelmed by the menu, so I went straight to the source of where all great opinions come from- the employees! When I tell you I had suggestions coming left and right as to what I should get, it was AMAZING! they didn't overwhelmingly offer everything at one time, they took turns letting me know what THEIR favorites were, I let them know up front I didn't want to know what sold the most, rather I wanted personal opinions, and that's what I went with =) I even got to sample the Dole Whip & cookie slices, which were so good! Especially the pineapple dole! By the time we left, we left happily with with 2 strawberry cheesecake rolls, a campfire s'mores roll, a cookie monster roll, a caramel apple pie roll, Pineapple dole whip and last but not least-a brownie! I love how they let us know up front everything was gluten free and vegan, I'm not one to make a fuss on whether something is gluten free or not but knowing my dessert looked, and most importantly tasted- absolutely delicious and I was not going to pay for it later made a big difference! My goal was to take pictures of each cinnamon roll so you could see how delicious they looked, but right after taking pictures of the boxes, they were gone with the wind lol, happy bellies all around, that is a guarantee! We will Definitely be back to try some other goodies and I really hope the same awesome group of teens are there, bc they REALLY made this a great experience! They were fun and upbeat, even though by the time we left they should have almost been done cleaning up and going home, but they were in no hurry to get us out of there- or the other 4 people who came in after us! That alone will bring my family back time and time again. I asked the team if they could have a team name what it would be, they were split so thank you team #wegotitdone...

This place is so good. Went here on a whim, and was blown away. It has become an every 2 week treat in our household. I cannot believe it's vegan, it is that good. We love just plain with cream cheese frosting, or any of the fruit options on the menu. I don't understand how people are not liking these cinnamon rolls, but everyone has different tastes. Def not anything less than 3 stars though. I've traveled the world, worked in some of the best restaurants, I've worked with some of the top pastry chefs here in Dallas, and I cannot believe that there is a cinnamon roll place that is this good, with so many solid options, in Mesquite, TX! Cinnamon rolls have always held a special place in my heart. Growing up, our dad would bring us a cinnamon roll from Grandy's if we got a good report card (and this is a million years ago 😆). This place invokes that same great memory, and tastes more sophisticated. 🙂

Right now, my jam has been with raspberry frosting, almonds, and fresh raspberries.

I have some strawberries that need to get eaten, so we're sharing one for breakfast, with strawberry frosting. Some coffee, yogurt. And a bite of heaven. Sounds like a good way to start the day and find a little joy.

Wanted to try it to see what it was all about when I got there there was no line ordered 2 old school one with pecan and a Cookie Monster after I order a crowed showed up so I assumed I didn’t need to worry about since I ordered already well I was wrong I proceeded to wait and watch them go through the whole line having 5 parties that ordered after me get their order first I asked what was going on they said oh we have yours right here so I waited and watched more people get there order at this point I’m annoyed it’s hot since they keep the place at 81 and when I finally get my ordered one of them is missing so had to wait longer I go home to find out that they didn’t add the pecans to my order so not only did it take 30 minutes to get my order I didn’t even get it made correctly I expected more from this place but it was just a big waste of time and money I would...
