Great Food, but Rude Customer Service Drove Me Away
I used to be a loyal customer of this restaurant since moving to Sunnyvale two years ago. The food is great, but unfortunately, I’ve stopped coming here because of repeated rude and dismissive behavior from one of the cashiers.
Every time I placed an order for pick-up and arrived to collect it, the young lady at the counter was either passive or outright dismissive. She never acknowledged me or other customers walking in, leaving us standing there until she decided to check us out. Her attitude was always unpleasant, and it was clear she didn’t care about providing good service.
The final straw came when I placed a pick-up order, and on my way to get it, I received a call from her asking if I was coming to pick it up. I live 15 minutes away and told her I was on my way. She was already passive-aggressive during the first call, but I remained calm and reassured her I was coming. Less than 5 minutes later, she called again, but this time much more aggressively, asking, “Ma’am, are you coming or not, so I can throw your stuff away? It’s been too long.” I was shocked at how rude she was. I got upset and told her to cancel my order. It takes a lot to make me upset, but the tone and attitude were unacceptable.
I understand that working in customer service can be tough, and I always try to be respectful and kind to restaurant workers. However, this cashier consistently refused to engage politely, wouldn’t even respond to a simple “good morning,” and was always in a bad mood. I’m not the only one who feels this way—my best friend stopped coming here for the same reason. When I told her about the incident, she immediately knew who I was talking about, which means this isn’t an isolated issue.
I know I’m just one customer, and my absence might not make a big difference, but I can’t imagine how many others have had similar experiences with this cashier. She needs to improve her customer service skills, or if she’s unhappy in her role, perhaps it’s time for her to find another job. It’s disappointing that such great food is overshadowed by such poor...
Read moreThis place is a joke. First of all, their customer service is awful. The girl who took my order couldn't have been any more rude. I placed my order and chose a spot to sit while I waited on my food. I started noticing that everyone else's orders (people who ordered after me) were coming out before mine. It had only been 10 minutes at this point though, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Another 10 minutes go by, and I still don't have my order. I went to the counter with my receipt and asked if my order would be ready soon. The girl takes my receipt and takes a few laps around the kitchen, asking if anyone knew anything about my order. Everyone just shrugged. She returns to tell me that nobody has made my order. I said, "I've been sitting here for 20 minutes and no one has even started making my food?" She just started at me blankly. So I told her I wanted a refund, as I didn't have anymore time to wait. She responded with, "But you paid with a card." Okay? I still want a refund. Then she had to make a phone call because no one in the restaurant knows how to give a refund. She spends 10 more minutes on the phone with someone trying to figure out how to give a refund. Save yourself the frustration, and avoid this place. The food isn't worth it. (I've been once before this encounter. The food...
Read moreWe typically go for breakfast, but the food is great. They have great mexican-style coffee! But the service is a little questionable. There are a couple employees who we avoid and have had terrible experiences with-both in instances where the menu or restaurant says one thing and they do not honor it. For instance-the advertisement on the front glass says free coffee with a breakfast plate, but we have had arguments with an employee about whether or not its free when we order a breakfast plate. Its a little asinine because we point out what the glass specifically says and she has no response besides "coffee is $x.xx" another instance, different employee: the menu for breakfast plates says to "choose 2 sides: beans, rice, or potatoes". I chose beans and potatoes but she wanted to upcharge us for potatoes because we were substituting an item....even though the menu says to choose 2 sides from the list of 3 options. Like the other employee, she had no response besides "i see the menu says that but potatoes cost $x.xx more".
Tldr; the food is really great but i avoid going most of the time because the employees go against the cost of...
