Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Methuen

New restaurant. First time trying. The line was around the room and pretty much out the door. I had ordered my food through the app so I didn’t have to wait. Didn’t think the line would be that long. Went in when my order was said to be ready. Had to wait maybe 10-15 more minutes till I actually got the food but it was understandable, they were busy. To then hear the person say at the register that their systems were down. It was fixed shortly after. When I ordered I paired up and saved. I ordered the Cajun shrimp salad. I asked for no rice (due to my diet) and no tomato. I got home and realized they forgot the salad dressing. It came with a side and I ordered the kale apple slaw which was good. Last but not least I ordered a super veggie smoothie called the avocolada which had avocados, spinach, pineapple, kale, coconut and lime. I asked to hold the pineapple due to my diet again but it was really good! Next time I might keep the pineapple just to see how it is. Will...

Love their smoothies and food but this review is solely for that white blond guy that’s always in stores scaring customers away.

I don’t know if he’s the manager but it honestly scares me every time I go in there. He never lets me have my smoothie in peace. It’s always “HOW ARE THOSE SMOOTHIEs?!?!…. THEY SHOULD’NT JUST BE GOOD, THEY SHOULD AMAZINGGG!… ENJOY YOUR SMOOTHIE…” and a bunch of other things.

I know this may seem nice but it’s honestly so scary to me. He sounds like a robot. It would be nice for him to just say ”enjoy your smoothie, have a great day” and that right there wouldn’t have me freaked out. If you’ve been there, then you know it’s the most annoying orchestrated script I have ever heard in my life.

The Baja chicken and the jalapeño corn side were excellent. Will I go back? I’m not so sure. My smoothies tasted like water more than anything. I understand that the staff is doing what they can to make customers’ experience memorable and enjoyable. This afternoon I didn’t receive their best in terms of customer service. While my food was ready in a timely manner, I waited a long time for my smoothie and noticed that someone else who had placed an order after me was getting their smoothie before me. It seemed like my smoothie was made twice. The lack of care was too obvious. Part of the team was focused and getting the job done while trying to pull the weight of the rest who were maybe too relaxed as it was getting pretty busy (around 5PM).
