Pros • Round Pizza is Excellent – The highlight of the meal was definitely their regular round pizza. Perfectly baked, flavorful, and a true standout. • Menu Variety – The restaurant offers both traditional round pizzas and Sicilian deep dish, plus several appetizer options. • Atmosphere Potential – With some adjustments, the location could have a cozy and inviting feel.
Cons • Hostess Interaction – Upon arrival, a sign instructed guests to wait outside for the hostess. While we waited patiently, another guest arrived behind us and also waited. During this time, a woman walked right past all of us into the restaurant. The hostess approached her inside, had no problem taking her name, and put her directly on the waitlist — all without asking her to wait outside like the rest of us. When the lady who rudely walked past everyone stepped back out, I walked inside to explain what happened, but before I could finish, the hostess interrupted me with, “wait outside, I will come to you.” When I politely mentioned that the gentleman behind me was also ahead of that lady that just put her name down, her response was, “worry about yourself.” This came across as unnecessarily rude and set a very negative tone for the rest of the evening. • Long Wait Despite Open Tables – Even with five empty tables visible, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated finally in one of those empty tables we had been looking at. • Uncomfortable Environment – Contrary to past responses to the reviews stating the air conditioning was fixed, it was not. A large, loud machine was blowing air into the dining room, which was distracting and unpleasant. • Mediocre Starters – The artichoke, meatballs, and Caesar salad were decent but nothing memorable. • Sicilian Pizza Just “OK” – While the round pizza shined, the Sicilian deep dish lacked the same quality and flavor. • Poor Service Throughout – No offer of red pepper flakes or cheese, no “can I get you anything else for your meal,” no warmth or attentiveness. We ordered bottled water but were served tap at first, with no apology or acknowledgment. The general attitude felt transactional rather than welcoming.
How Service Could Improve Better Hostess Training – Treat all guests equally and with courtesy. If the policy is to wait outside, it should apply to everyone. More Attentive Table Service – Offer condiments, check in during the meal, and ensure orders are correct. Hospitality Mindset – Small touches like “thank you,” “enjoy your meal,” or “can I get you anything else?” go a long way toward making guests feel valued. Fix the Air Conditioning – A comfortable environment is essential, and a noisy portable unit takes away from the dining experience.
Final Verdict: While the round pizza is worth noting, the combination of rude hostess interactions, lack of hospitality, and uncomfortable dining environment overshadowed the food quality. At $150 for two pizzas and three appetizers, we expected far better service. With so many excellent pizza spots in Miami that pair great food with genuine hospitality, Marc Artisanal Pizza won’t be on our...
Read moreThere’s no denying it: the pizza here is absolutely phenomenal. Everything Is top quality, the flavor is distinctive and outstanding. I added stracciatella and a spicy pepper mix which stole the show, it was a perfect combo and, for me, the highlight of the meal. great job!!!!
Unfortunately, my overall experience was bittersweet.
Knowing how popular this spot is, I arrived at 4:00 PM — 30 minutes before opening — and waited under the sun to make sure I could get a table. I was the second or third person in line. When the doors opened at 4:30, I asked the hostess for a table for one. She said, without hesitation, that there are no tables for one, only bar seating. When I politely asked if I could wait for a table, she replied, “You can sit at the bar — or leave.” That was the tone, and I immediately sensed trouble.
Thankfully, the person working behind the bar — who seemed to be both bartender and server — was incredibly kind and attentive. He gave great recommendations, checked in often, and made me feel welcome. I could also observe the rest of the staff from the bar, and they all seemed friendly, professional, and genuinely proud of their work. Most of them spoke Spanish, which added a warm, Latin American hospitality vibe to the place.
But just as I was about to finish my pizza, the same hostess — who I believe may be a manager — approached me in a surprisingly aggressive tone. I was sitting in the middle of a three-seat bar section, and she demanded that I move to one side to make room for two incoming guests. I calmly told her I had just one slice left and would be leaving in less than a minute. Her response? “I’ll remember your face for next time.” At that point, I told her there wouldn’t be a next time.
The bartender immediately apologized and even offered to bring the owner (Eric ) from the kitchen to hear what had happened. I declined — I didn’t want to let this escalate further. I paid, thanked the bartender again on my way out, and left.
To Eric & Yeanny: You have an incredible restaurant with a standout product and a strong team. But one poorly trained or badly tempered staff member can seriously damage the customer experience. I’ve been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, and my honest advice is this — don’t let someone like that represent your brand. Customers may come once because of the hype, but they won’t return if the service is disrespectful.
Congratulations, You have the best or the second best...
Read moreYesterday we stopped by Marc's for dinner. This was our first time here. What a pleasant surprise it turned out to be. Although it is a small restaurant, it was very cozy and pleasant with enough space between everyone. There are about 11-12 comfortable tables. The guests were all in a good mood and even with the loud talking, you could hear your own party perfectly well. It is casual dress there. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and there was only a short 15 minute wait.
Our server was Ana, who was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about their menu. She made sure we had water at the table at all times by bringing an ice cold water bottle to be kept on our table. It was a hot day in Miami Beach so that was appreciated by us.
We ordered the Artichoke & Stracciatella, which was confit artichoke roasted with breadcrumbs, served over local stracciatella, which is made from creamy mozzarella. It was warm and delicious! We also had the very best Garlic Knots that I have ever tasted to go with their homemade Meatballs dish. There are 4 meatballs that can be split with your partner. Excellent!! After that, came our main dish, the Mushroom pizza, which was made with Porcini cream, caramelized onions, garlic, whole milk mozzarella, local ricotta, Cremini mushrooms, shallots, and parsley. To die for! It was so good. We were already so full from the appetizers that we were only able to eat one slice each and take the rest home for tomorrow. The choc chip cookies were not the best. An amazing and wonderful meal. I see why this restaurant is so popular with long lines to get in. Their food and service is spot on! We will be returning soon.
Parking can be found on the street. No pets. I don't think it would be comfortable for a wheelchair because of the size of the restaurant but there is outside seating in front of the restaurant that would work. Marc's Pizza is a great addition to the Normandy ...
