I really wanted to fall in love with this quaint Thai restaurant (they also have sushi), but it fell a bit short of what I expected. The place has a great neighborhood feel and the service was both friendly and attentive. They have a BYOB policy so we brought a few bottles of wine to enjoy, which was wonderful. The Thai appetizers were very good, especially the nam sod. I usually try to order more authentic and difficult to find Thai dishes, but the pad Thai was highly recommended by the staff. I asked for it spicy. Overall, I was very disappointed with the dish. It was extremely sweet and totally disrupted the balance that makes pad Thai so delicious. It had zero heat, not even slightly spicy. I was really expecting more since it was recommended and it entirely changed my opinion of the restaurant since everything was good up to that point. My friend also ordered the pad Thai and agreed that it was far too sweet and had no heat. We were too full for dessert. Overall, pros were clean, friendly, BYOB, and tasty appetizers. Cons: pad Thai was poorly executed and totally missed the mark which is really disappointing for a...
Read moreThis a tiny authentic Thai restaurant. My wife and I were here on a random evening. There were some couples here and 2 - 3 families. But, plenty of tables were available.
Service was a bit slow due to staff shortages (CoVID times). For a tiny Thai "mom-and-pop" restaurant we felt that the prices were a bit high. But when the food arrived, we saw that the helpings were much larger than a typical restaurant, so the prices were indeed justified. Order accordingly.
Both of us are vegetarian. The typical Thai curries (red, green, massaman, etc.) that one finds in all Thai restaurants are all pre-made here and contain fish sauce. But, the proprietor pointed out that we could order any of their entrees vegetarian and it would be completely vegetarian. That's what we did.
The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. Man, that was one satisfying meal.
BTW, this is a BYO -- had we known that we would have brought along a...
Read moreI had the worst experience at this restaurant. first of all they couldn’t get there Tom ka soup (the chicken coconut soup…it was Soooo sweet. I’ve never had anything so sweet in my life. It was sweeter than any dessert I’ve ever had …crazy!! sweet….after I mentioned to the waitress that it was just too sweet, She took the two soups that my wife and I had ordered back and brought them back to us as if they had redone the soups less sweet. They were exactly the same if not worse with actually less Stock than was in the bowls before taking them back…They must’ve lost the stock in the process..meaning the vegetables, chicken, etc. that was in the soup. Horrible experience, terrible service. felt like a real tourist trap especially for someone that lives here that is familiar with Thai food. Also, we were never asked if we would like something to drink, not to mention how high the prices were. So...
