HORRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE!!! When this Sonic opened we use to go there all the time. Then service and food started changing and we stopped going. No service with a smile, rolling of the eyes if you order something they don't want to make or order too much and most of the time they don't have the ice cream, shakes or slushes you ask for. In their commercial they show their employees bringing the food out in roller skates with big beautiful smiles on their faces, for that Sonic Drive-in feel...NOT at this one. It's suppose to have the "sandy beachy look outside" but it looks dirty outside and inside. We stopped going inside because it looks so depressing and empty most of the time and you wait forever (inside and out). Today we thought we give them another try and we're so sorry we did!! Before going my husband called to find out if they had the Chicago Hot Dog since it's no longer on their menu and was told that YES they did. He loves them, so he ordered 4 of them, a SuperSonic Double Cheeseburger for me and two Tots. The Double Cheeseburger was almost cold and drenched in a very watery sauce (couldn't tell if too much mayo or mustard or BOTH!) the Tots were very dry and tasteless and the Chicago Hot Dogs were NOT Chicago Hot Dogs!! They were served on a regular bun with mustard, a little bit of onions and relish and 1 small slice of tomato cut in half and WHO PUTS CINNAMON IN A HOT DOG OF ANY KIND?! When I called and asked for the manager to let him know he introduced himself as Leslie (Manager/General Manager) and after I told him that we have eaten many Chicago Hot Dogs there, other Sonic stores and many other restaurants and that these were definitely NOT it...the first thing that came out of his mouth was: "they didn't have the right bun?" NO Leslie as I said to you, your employees should GOOGLE how to make a Chicago Hot Dog if they don't know how to make them. BTW this is how you make one: The hot dog is topped with yellow mustard, chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato slices or wedges, pickled sport peppers and a dash of celery salt on a poppy seeds bun. Also such a simple order shouldn't take 20 minutes and food shouldn't be so cold if it was just made. You expressed how you had started there 3 weeks ago and are working on changing things around...I gave you my professional opinion of what you should do...you have your hands full. As I told you we'll be back in a month and I'll let you know how it turns out! At this time I don't recommend this place...
Read moreI went to Sonic Druve In at Miami Gardens, FL parked in stall #15, placed my order and paid for the same. After watching the screen which “tracks the order” I was notified Sharee would be bringing the order. Twenty minutes passed by and I had no food nor any explanations. I pressed the order button and inquired why there hadn’t been anything brought out as yes and a no named, teenaged female voice instructed me to come through the drive through. Although I protested, I complied, having to wait an additional seven or more minutes before accessing the order speaker there, where I requested to speak with the manager. A lady emerged from behind the employee door wearing a bonnet, the Sonic polo and pants with slides on her feet. She greeted me professionally and asked what my issue was. When I began explaining my disappointment with the service and inquire as to why it was necessary for me to get in the drive thru line after having already been thru the ordering process as well ad payment, the lady who never gave her name, cut me off to tell me “cause we ain’t got nobody”. When I expressed that it was rude for her to over talk me and cut me off without hearing my thoughts, she turned and walked away mumbling as she returned to the restaurant’s interior. At this point there remained three vehicles ahead of me in drive thru. When I arrived finally at the window, I expressed to the young man working the window that I wanted my money returned. The young man asked my name and when he had been given it, the window was closed abruptly. In approximately a minute or two thereafter the window opened to the unnamed bonnet wearing manager who was handing me a receipt for the refund while saying “ Here you go”. And the window closed abruptly a second time. After reviewing the receipt, I drove away, and I am now writing this narrative not more than ten minutes post to all that took place. I have to say I expected much better service than what was received. I doubt seriously that I will ever return to that location, and I question the judgment of corporate leadership that placed such unprofessional persons in charge of...
Read moreKind of a weird experience…I came to the location and parked in stall number 17. Ordering my food seemed to be difficult. As if the employee who was taking my order was unable to hear me. Perhaps the headset or the speaker or the microphone was not working properly. Not sure. So I had to repeat myself multiple times. After a long wait time. I decided to go inside to see if maybe there was a problem with the order. Perhaps they thought it was a carry out order. I used to work at a fast food restaurant before. Having compassion is right thing to do after all. I walked in and say a woman with two kids running around like crazy while the woman was trying to figure out a gift card situation. And the employee, a young g man with glasses was walking back and forth from front desk to the back. Once he was finished with that, I asked about my food and no matter the question that I asked he seemed to be confused by. And also would interrupt me before I could finish my question or respond full to him. Ultimately, I got my food but I was hoping it would be brought out to me to the stall. And if they were unable to bring it out to me, it would had been nice to know because maybe I wouldn’t had to wait so long for my food. I want to be kind and compassionate to those employees but they seemed to be …lazy. Unconcerned. Not caring. And it makes me not want to return back to this sonic again. I am also going to share this on my Google reviews as well. Because I don’t think I would want anyone else to come here and deal with this when it is a $30 order for food and there is no service, no concern, and the open sign in the lobby is turned off. Seems like a place where things are not very clean in the kitchen either . How do I know? Because the parking lot had trash, the lobby was dirty looking, and the open sign was turned off. And also…I saw 4 people just hanging out not doing anything...
