El Machetico had been recommended by a few people as THE place to enjoy an authentic and delicious Colombian breakfast. I thought to myself “If the breakfast is so good, I’m sure the lunch will be too.” My first obstacle was the parking. Despite being a spacious parking lot, it was very crowded and challenging to find a spot. Once inside, the restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff are very friendly. We were seated immediately and I was happy to see so many food options and a few lunch specials. After that, my experience went down hill. To start off, the empanadas weren’t visually appealing and tasted very bland. This was followed by a semi-burnt piece of chicken and rice that tasted old. The people I was with, said the soup was “okay” and that the tostones were extremely over fried and too crunchy. Despite the friendly service and clean restaurant appearance, the food wasn’t the best. Not sure if breakfast is significantly better but I will most likely not be returning for lunch. I’m willing to return to try the breakfast options and finally decide if this is a restaurant worth recommending.

The food at the restaurant was exquisite, but the service left much to be desired. Despite there being only four occupied tables, the manager—who took our order—failed to bring us the water we requested or any utensils. We eventually had to ask other waitstaff, as the food arrived before the cutlery and water did. This points to a clear lack of organization. Additionally, it took an unreasonably long time to receive the bill and the dessert I had asked to be packed for takeaway, which the manager had instructed an employee to prepare. As for the dish I wanted, I almost wanted to eat it because I saw a price of $140 and I didn't know the differences that the manager couldn't explain to me(bandeja paisa)

This Colombian restaurant is absolutely amazing! The decorations create a warm and authentic atmosphere that really sets the mood. The food is outstanding — full of flavor, and served in generous portions. The chicharrón is incredible — crispy, flavorful, and definitely a must-try dish. the service is excellent, the staff is friendly, attentive. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with delicious food, great ambiance, and plenty to enjoy. Highly recommended!

El Machetico is a culinary gem, a vibrant slice of Colombia right here in town. From the moment you walk in, the air is filled with the tantalizing aroma of arepas and sizzling meats. The decor is simple, but the atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with music and the happy chatter of satisfied diners.

The menu is a delightful journey through Colombian cuisine. I started with the empanadas, perfectly golden and filled with a savory mix of beef and potatoes. For my main course, I opted for the bandeja paisa, a hearty platter of grilled steak, chicharrĂłn, rice, beans, a fried egg, and avocado. It was a feast! Each element was cooked to perfection, and the combination of flavors and textures was simply outstanding.

The service was friendly and efficient, with the staff eager to offer recommendations and ensure a pleasant dining experience. El Sabor Colombiano is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Colombian food. The quality of the food, the lively atmosphere, and the reasonable prices make it a winning combination. I'll...

As a professional taster of Colombian cuisine and a Colombian by birth, I’ve visited many Colombian restaurants throughout Miami — and this one truly stands out. The food is rich in authentic Colombian flavor and took me right back to my roots.

We ordered the grilled chicken breast with mushrooms, bandeja paisa, trio of tostones, and sancocho de costilla — everything was delicious and well-prepared. The variety on the menu really impressed me, and the seasoning felt just like home.

And don’t forget to try the coconut lemonade — it’s absolutely amazing!

Parking was easy, and we found a table right away with no wait.

I’m giving 4 stars only because there was something about the meat that I personally didn’t enjoy. However, I still highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting a real Colombian dining...
