This hotel genuinely made me feel like I was home away from home. The amenities accomodated my needs and exceeded my expectations. Our shuttle driver was so sweet driving us in, he gave us a few recommendations on food nearby, and we ended up trying one Cuban spot, and loved it enough to go twice. The shuttle pick up was seamless, we called The hotel and the driver was there within 20 minutes. The hotel room 728 Was okay. The main issue was The space Sharing the room with three other women, just know you'll be a little cozy in the doubles. I would've enjoyed two queens a little but we made it work. My friend flew up for two days and had 716 which features a king bed. I recommend the King suite if you're traveling as a couple or alone. One of my sheets had a stain on it, it grossed me out, however the manager sent housekeeping to switch the sheets out right away, so no problem there. In fact, Housekeeping did a wonderful job cleaning our room during our 5 day stay each day while we were out . The lobby was so bright and colorful, and the lemon and lime water was so great everyday and so were The delicious complementary cookies. they also provided 2 complementary bottles of water daily which was so helpful with The humidity and heat. The hot tub felt so good at night on my back. The blue towels were a bonus because you could use them right there and leave them in the cabinet. The office allowed you to print for free which was very helpful, as we were needing event tickets printed etc. The lobby was safe and secure. I didn't eat breakfast there because it was $12.95 daily and there were other restaurants in walking distance. Across the street there is Denny's, McDonald's(which I hate), Wendy's, and El Rinconcito Latino that had really good food. There is also Chinese food and a peruvian restaurant and Subway. There's also a liquor store in the plaza. Chipotle and El Pollo Tropical were also waking distance on the same side of the street, because it can be harder to cross during traffic. The people out there drive crazy. Chevron is also very close by if you need gas, but you may find cheaper gas elsewhere. The car rental place was in the lobby of the hotel also, and that was super convenient, we actually rented a vehicle for less than major companies at the airport. I'll review for Ideal Rental once I get my security deposit back. The other cool thing about Hilton Garden Inn is that their shuttle goes from the hotel to the Dolphin Mall and Wal-Mart everyday which is super cool if you do not have a car. Lastly, please know that the security deposit is $300 with credit at check in or $250 if you use cash . I highly recommend using cash especially if you're traveling with others on a budget because you can split the cost and you'll get it back in cash at check out like we did. I definitely don't like being surprised with extra costs. We were traveling to celebrate my birthday and I asked my share of questions before arriving so I knew how to prepare financially. I highly recommend this hotel for it's price point and customer service. Even before arrival the guest service members were so hospitable to me. On the way back to the airport, I recommend leaving about two hours before your flight to be safe. We were nervous about missing our flight because we chose to leave at 1:30 for our 3:20 pm flight. Any whoo. I'll definitely book here again next time I'm in the MIA. And if you're a group of ladies traveling I recommend club Labare for a little adult fun. It's literally 5 minutes away and will show you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRoom service leaves the ac on 68 degrees & the heat doesn't work so the highest the temperature got to overnight was 72 degrees. So the entire stay was miserable. I put my heat on 77 at home & traveling for business & not having the same amenities as home is the worst thing ever & made me want to check out after the first night of my stay. Knowing your heat is broken and leaving the ac on 68 shows the staff doesn't care about the comfort of their guests, but that the staff only cares about their own comfort. And why would you want to stay at a hotel that doesn't care about the comfort of it's guests??? Zero stars
Update: I called the front desk and was told the heat doesn't work in the whole building. So if the staff knows this why would they cut the ac on the lowest setting prior to guests arriving??!! Confirms what said earlier about staff not caring about the guests being comfortable, as long as the staff themselves is comfortable. The Hilton Garden Inn Miami West doesn't deserve to be in the hospitality industry because they don't know what being hospitable is & they don't care about guests being comfortable. The employees at the front desk are also lazy. I'm a diamond member so i travel for business frequently & there's plenty of times where i need to extend my stay at other Hiltons & i combine my stays into one trip. Well the lady working the front desk refused to combine my trips, she just wants me to wait until the day I'm supposed to check out to check out & then check back in. I'm on a business trip & don't know how my schedule will be so the last thing i want to do is add something else to my schedule on a busy day, when i could be doing it in my downtime. Horrible stay & service all around
Update my original stay was from Mon-Thu but I got more work on Tuesday so I extended my stay until Friday. I go down to the front desk on Tuesday & ask the torta to extend my stay, which I done at plenty of Hiltons around the country & itās never a problem. To my surprise itās an issue here & she tells me i have to wait until my check-out on Thursday & Iāll have to check back in, but i wonāt have to switch my room or anything. I voice my displeasure because I have appointments to make Thursday & having to check out & check back in in an inconvenience & will potentially make me late, but whatever as long as I donāt have to switch rooms itās fine. So when Thursday gets here the other lady at the front desk tells me my room is booked & Iāll have to check out and move to a different room. This is a problem because it caused me to be an hour late for my client meeting. Also by this time Iām sick as a dog because of the broken heat in the hotel and the 24/7 72 degree temperature in the room. So tell me why when i finally get to the new room the heat does work!!!! So I got unnecessarily sick on my business trip when I didnāt have to, all because torta lied and said the heat in the whole hotel was broken. I rarely get sick, maybe once every 20 years and because this awful employee lied and said no rooms in the hotel had heat I got sick. I stay in maybe 260 hilton hotels per year on business & this is by far worst Hilton experience Iāve ever had & Iām making a complaint with corporate as soon as I get a chance. Horrible just horrible, got me sick all because of a lie from the front desk when I didnāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDiamond status means nothing here. Iāve stayed at plenty of Hiltons, but this one made me check out earlyāand not just in the reservation sense.
Letās start with dinner. I sat down hoping for a decent meal, and things were fine at first. The bartenderāwho also took my food orderāwas fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and doing a stellar job holding it down solo. No complaints there. Heās the one bright spot in an otherwise chaotic stay.
Then a full-blown party exploded behind us. Loud shouting, screaming, hooting, holleringālike someone dropped a frat party in the hallway. No staff around to manage the noise or the crowd. I ended up cutting dinner short and heading back to my room just for some peace.
Next morning? Only one elevator working. Already packed with four guests and luggage. On floor three, a housekeeping staffer shoves her entire cart into the elevator, pinning me into the corner like it was some kind of clown car. Weāre all in there with backpacks and suitcasesāit was ridiculous.
And then the cherry on top: parking. Iāve been a Hilton Diamond member for over five years, and this place offers zero priority parking. Instead, theyāve installed a third-party QR code system and charge $15/day for parking in the middle of nowhere. Weāre on the far west side of Miamiānot near downtown, not near the beach. Nothing nearby to justify charging for parking at all.
Iām checking out early and wonāt be back. This location treats loyalty like a punchline and basic service like an optional bonus. Do better, Hilton.
Update after checkout: Everything was fine until I checked out and saw a $75 parking charge when it was supposed to be $15/day. I stayed two daysāmath says $30. It took two separate phone calls to get this corrected. The first said they would fix it and re-email a receipt, waited a few hours and nothing, and the second call was worse. The woman on the phone seemed more interested in arguing with me than fixing the issueāeven though I had a receipt clearly showing the $75 charge. I was repeatedly interrupted while trying to explain the line items on my bill. After firmly asking to finish my sentence, she finally sent a corrected receiptāshowing $40+ less than what I was charged this morning. So no, I wasnāt crazy. Just overcharged. Again, nice hotelābut double-check your bill, and be prepared to push if...
