I was harassed and embarrassed by the front desk receptionist named Maria Jusino on July 4th, 2016 at the Homewood Suites Miami Airport West located at 3590 NW 74th Ave. Miami, FL. where I am staying for my 27 days business trip. Maria Jusino was hospitable as prison guard when she spoke to me. She scared me. She was unprofessional and she spoke with me with a condescendence tone of voice. She has lousy attitude, unprofessional and her job performance is unacceptable. She should be fired. During the evening social event, I decided to take small amount of food back to my room to eat instead of sitting in the dining room with other guests. As I was about to leave the dining room with a plate of food, Maria Jusino came up to me and wanted to talk to me in the dining room area. With her raised voice she yelled at me and accused me of taken too much food and did not leave any food for other guests. She then asked me how many plates did I take back to my room and how many people are in my room. I told her there is one person [myself] in my room and I took a plate of salad, a plate of fruit and a small plate of rice and shredded pork enough for myself to eat. Evidently, her raised voice caused attention to the guests who were dining in the dining room at that time. I notice the guests in the dining room looked up and starred at us because of her yelling and her raised voice at me. I felt so embarrassed by Maria Jusino accusation and her raised condescendence tone of voice in front of the hotel guests. She continued with her raised voice and disregard the guests in the dining room who were still starring at us and demanded that I let her in my hotel room to check on how much food that she alleged me have taken back to my room. She finalized with her threaten that if I do not cooperate with her, she will call security on me. I asked for her name, instead of telling me her name, she demanded that I tell her my name and my room number. I took down her name from her name tag and walked away. As I was walking away from her, I could still hear her raised voice saying that she will get my name and my room number off the guest list on the computer. As a large chain and reputable hotel like the Hilton Honors hotel, I was disappointed to be treated less than respect and professional. During my 27 days business stay at this hotel, Maria Jusino inflicts so much stress and unhappiness to me. I notified the Hilton Honors but they have not done anything to solve the problem or to stop Maria Jusino from harassing me. The hotel advertised that "Make yourself at home at our Homewood Suites by Hilton® Miami - Airport West hotel" "Indulge in a hot full breakfast each morning and an evening social, Monday through Thursday." Maria Jusino certainly did not make me feel at home away from home during my stay at this facility with her continue attack me on how much food I eat in the evening social hour. I am a paying guest and a loyal Hilton Honor for many years and I or any paying guests should not be subjected to the hand of Maria Jusino's unprofessional, harassment...
Read moreWe are Diamond members & my wife & I were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite. We were excited by this until we saw the room. The lobby looks very nice as well as the food area so we expected the same thing for the rooms. Boy were we wrong! Upon opening the door of our room, the room had a very musty smell as if it hadn't been used in months. We were afraid as to what we were breathing in. Was it just musty or was this mold? My father passed away after contracting Legionnaires Disease from staying at a hotel & this smell brought back very bad memories & made us wonder if the same thing could happen to us in this room. The carpeting throughout the unit looked very dirty & we didn't want to walk around without socks on our feet. The king bed's mattress was AWFUL! It was sagging & deplorable. Good thing there were 2 other beds to select from. We ended up sleeping on a bed in the other bedroom. The floor in the master bathroom had paint specks all over it. The dresser in the master bedroom had a drawer knob falling off. I took a picture of it so as not to be accused of breaking it. The phone in the living room area was not even connected as there was no wire for it. The air conditioner could only be controlled by a thermostat in the second bedroom & it only controlled part of the unit. The 2nd bedroom was one temperature & the rest of the unit was another temperature. The a/c unit made so much noise, it was dreadful! It sounded like drums all night long! Didn't make for a good night's sleep. Also there was a piece of pasta in one of the kitchen cabinets. This gave us the impression that housekeeping wasn’t doing a very good job. The only pros about this hotel was the front desk staff, complimentary breakfast & electric vehicle chargers. The front desk staff were very friendly and professional. The complimentary breakfast was sufficient, what you would expect from a continental breakfast. Nothing to rave about but at least there were items to choose from. The main reason we selected this hotel was for the electric vehicle charger. We own a Tesla & having the destination charger is very important. Overall, I would never stay at this hotel again. The rooms need a major renovation. We used our points for this stay & I guess you get what you pay for. It was the least amount of points in the area as was the Hilton Garden Inn which we stay at all the time but not anymore since there is no free breakfast to Hilton Honor Members. We thought we would try the Homewood Suites since it’s adjacent to the Hilton Garden Inn but...
Read moreI’d stayed at this hotel on October 7th - 10th. In room 102. I must say the services were great. The Representatives were extremely polite and understanding and showed professionalism. The breakfast was well prepared and set up really well and was satisfying. The room was cleaned; it smelled great and most of all, the bed was comfortable. The maintenances are well done with customers in mind. In fact, every place I’ve been throughout this hotel was above average. Now, with that said, there’s one thing I must mention that I was not thrilled about. I felt that a hotel that has this much going for it, and the standard it upholds, WIFI should not be a decision factor for a customer. I had experienced the discomfort of trying to make a reservation for my daughter, from this hotel, and couldn’t get through because of the Wifi. Every time I’d exit the hotel and returned, the wifi goes dead and the process had to be redone. yet, it seems as though one has to be close to the reception desk to do so or have the receptionist does it. Now, you can imagine how many trips I’d made to the front desk. To be fair, there’s a premium Wifi that costs $4.99 per day! It’s only fear for me to think the problems with the Wifi that’s free are manufactured to justify the purchase of the premium; but is it? I would rather pay $1 or 2 dollars more per day for great wifi than to deal with substandard wifi. And if that is done I’m pretty sure you will come out the winner. I’ve red several reviews on the hotel and Wifi has been one of the issues that customers are dissatisfied with. That, needs to be address. Would I recommend or stay here again? definitely. Owen Jerriho.
Dear D. Hartling, thanks for getting back to me and your reply is duly noted. However, are you saying the problem happens with those who’d purchased your premium Wifi as well because of security reasons? Your representatives seem extremely surprised as I was with the drops of the wifi. Still, it nice to know that someone pays attention to the concerns of their customers. I appreciated that...
