El Pitayo — Restaurant in Miami

I have never been so frustrated with a restaurant, this place has people that don’t care! I’ve had to have a meal refunded once because it was all old and awful, my food tonight was chimichanga and it tasted like it was left over, the steak was tough and the tortilla was doughy and soggy, my grand daughter called to see if she brought it up if he would refund it, the manager lied and said we have asked numerous times for one when I have not!, I am an elderly woman on a fixed income and he refused to refund the meal, my granddaughter and I were polite about it, but he was rude as can be, I’ve never been to a place to have such disregards for customer service or their elderly! The last meal I got that was refunded which was the ONLY MEAL FROM THERE THAT WAS REFUNDED! I got horrible food poisoning from and had to go to the hospital, I wanted to give them another try because everywhere has its rough days, but this was just as awful! Will NEVER BE GOING BACK!!!! My mom and I went early, 4:00, which is unusual for us so this may be normal, but frankly the 2 people in the dining area didn't want to work. The man was at a table doing some type of paperwork and the woman kept hanging out at the booth, laughing loudly and speaking in Spanish.

I had asked her what the name of the place meant in Spanish, she just shrugged and didn't know, then proceeded to have a good laugh about it with her friend.

I finally said loudly we were ready to order. She took our order, and did not answer my questions about cost, just wanted to know if I did or did not want guacamole or sour cream. I said I just wanted a side of it.

The food came and was less than good. It looked like something that was thawed out thenheated in a microwave.

Then the bill came. My "side of guacamole and SC" came out to be $4.99 EACH! Sodas are $3.50.

All in all it was $50 for crappy food and bizmel service. Good luck...

The food wasn't bad for the most part, the queso was like water, and the chicken in my partners enchiladas was inedible and my quesadilla was so greasy I couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. I asked for sweet tea and I was brought unsweet without being told it was going to be unsweet and so I asked for Dr pepper instead and was brought Pepsi instead without asking if that was okay or not.
