Not impressed, So what you are a Michelin star restaurant Don’t believes the hype. I want to be completely honest and transparent. I'm a world traveler who has visited over 100 countries and eaten at millions of restaurants all around the world. At 60 years old, I've been to Thailand five times and even speak a little Thai a took thai cooking lessons while in Bangkok. Love Thai people and culture but these folk the staff here were not nice. Each customer is paying $100 -$200 for a meal. We visited a restaurant without knowing it was Michelin-starred until we saw the review in the window. It looks like a real Thai street restaurant which you can eat at in Thailand for $6 get a whole meal so when I saw are bill was $50 and we were still Hungry That didn’t sit well with me. From the moment our waitress approached our table, she had an attitude. She informed us that we could only order once, so we needed to choose carefully. However, she failed to mention that the portions were very small, like cereal-sized bowls. We also didn't scan the barcode menu, assuming that, like most Thai restaurants I've been to worldwide, dishes would cost around $13-$16 for a large plate of food. I didn't check the menu and ordered my usual: padi thai noodles, not too spicy, with no bean sprouts, nuts on the side, and two limes. I also ordered a Thai iced tea with no ice, explaining that since the tea is cold due to the cream, it doesn't need ice. She argued with me about the ice until I reluctantly agreed to a little. However, they filled the glass with ice, a tactic to make you order more of this delicious tea at $5 per glass. Full of ice and very little 🧋 tea. Learned this trick in Thailand.
When the food arrived, I was shot and surprised with disappointment it was just two small cereal-sized bowls for $50. We left hungry and walked up the street to order Cuban food. We left hungry because I didn't realize the portions were so small. The waitress didn't inform us, and since it was my first time there, I didn't read the menu thoroughly. When I asked for an extra bowl to share with my date, she said no. Extra napkins? Also no. They did bring more water, but it was tap water, which I don't drink tap water.
The food was delicious, but the waitress's attitude was terrible. I made sure to note this on the receipt, advising her No tip she wax rude play silly games Nita get silly prizes Will never return and I would not recommend it for $50 there are much better places in town to leave full. It’s a swipe left NO for me. Nita and the staff need to be nicer we pay...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I decided to give this restaurant a shot for the first time, thinking it'd be a cool and romantic idea to try some Thai food in the charming atmosphere of Little Havana. They seated us right away, but I gotta say, those tiny and uncomfortable wooden chairs and the table were pretty quirky. Some might even call it part of the place's charm.
We ordered our drinks, but here's the kicker: they didn't have any diet sodas or unsweetened iced tea. Not even sparkling water or club soda! So, I ended up with their dessert tea. Meanwhile, my boyfriend wanted hot tea, but they couldn't make it hot, which left us scratching our heads. And when he asked for hot sake, they told us they only had it cold. It's not like warming sake is a Herculean task, right?
We decided to share three dishes because it's one of those Thai tapas spots. Problem was, the plates barely fit on our table, and all they gave us were forks – no chopsticks or anything. They also missed asking us about our spice preferences, which should be part of the server's job, I think.
Then, at the bottom of the menu, we spotted this note saying, "18% gratuity added FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE." This got us thinking – was it really for our convenience or just a way to guarantee their tip? Feeling a bit peeved by the service and the whole vibe, I asked them to lower the tip to 15%. This led to a little argument, with me sticking to my guns that tipping should be up to us, based on how things went.
After some back-and-forth, they reluctantly took off the automatic tip, and we left a 15% tip anyway, even though we weren't thrilled with our experience. But our server's parting words were less than friendly – "Lady, if you don't want to pay, don't come back." I replied, "Don't worry, this is our first and last time here."
All in all, the night left us a bit disappointed, and it felt like Miami was trying to empty our pockets at every...
Read moreI would like to start by saying that this is my first negative review. I have come to this place a few times. I haded on my list to lunch whenever I was in the area. But I need to let everyone how they trate people in this place. After waiting for over 30 min outside for them to open. A guy tried to obligate me to seat on a table of his choice ( No one person in any of the other tables ) literally empty. Very politely I asked for a different table since I was working on my laptop. The tables and chairs are not just uncomfortable, but your plate barely feet in the table. Imagine if I have a laptop. The guy with a high level of attitude asked me to seat on a very tiny table. Just that kind o character doesn’t work for any one, specially for customers. I looked around and since there was non one, I couldn’t understand. Just to eat a soup and maybe something else. I only take a few minutes to make it and 3-5 to eat it. Either way I was able to listen to his statement, None at all, just that If I didn’t like I could leave. I put a smile in my face and asked, if it hat he was telling my was that if I don’t seat in a cheat that is not comfortable having all other tables completely open I have to go not even if I wait over 30 minutes outside for them to open, The guy with a hand gesture and reinforcing his attitude and very unprofessional masked my to leave if I didn’t take the table. I just couldn’t Believe that this kind of service exist. Not only did I feel disrespected, but unappreciated and devalued, after I spent over 30 min outside waiting for them to open, considering them as the place to get some lunch and being loyal at the area. I work customer service and I know for sure that service is key to retain customers. I can’t express how unprofessional and disrespectful this guy was. I hope that this help someone not to be seeing as a Dollar Sign $$$ In this place and being...
