Well, the ice cream was very good. Had a mantecado scoop with a waffle cone. But as a retired Banker I have a problem with what seems to be a growing issue. When any merchant wants to sell their product they have three options on how to get paid for their merchandise. (Cash, credit card or loan) for the sake of a $5 cone let's eliminate last option. No merchant will survive on cash alone, unless they are doing laundry on side. You get the drift. So here enters the bank. The bank also provides a service. The ability for this merchant to accept a credit card as payment. Obviously banks do not work for free. ( keep criticism of banks to yourself) back to the issue. I bought 2 cones and total was close to $6.50. Give or take depending how much of a bite of my cone Uncle Sam gets. The young lady (being kind) said could not accept card for purchases less than $10. Why for heaven sakes? What logic was that. She looked so cute holding 2 dripping ice cream cones as we walked out the door. By the...
Read moreMake sure to call before driving over here to get ice cream. We drove from South Kendall only for it to be closed upon arrival. The hours state they open at 1:30 pm. We arrived at 1:45 pm on a Wednesday and lights were off and door locked. No sign of life. Shocked to see that this is a common occurrence here, since I see on other reviews on Google stating similar issues with the hours. Either update your hours or open and close when you say you will.
Very disappointed that this happened since we were excited about having their ice cream. The name reminds my Mom of Cuba. She was really looking forward to it.
There are so many other great places with fabulous ice cream and service around here. I'd rather go support them than a place that doesn't respect their...
Read moreWhile visiting Miami I was craving ice cream. This was the closest shop to me. My wife and I love this little gem after visiting. The owner/manager I believe, didn't speak very much English but with my limited Spanish and the Google translate app we did fine. Lots of fruity flavors for me and regular kinds for the wife. She played it safe with a peanut butter flavor. The lady that served us had a youth and vigor about herself that was infectious and she truly seems to love her job! She was very helpful getting our selections and samples to see what we liked. I had the Ensalada! 5 scoops! I would definitely come back again if ever in the area. Clean little place and good...
