Nikki Pizza La Original — Restaurant in Miami

This place has turned into a complete dumpster fire. The same order I'd been picking up for years and picked up about 3 months ago for the last time had always been a consistent 40 something dollars. Today I decided to order some pickup again. They hung up the phone on me without any time frame or any additional information. I arrive to pick up my order and I give them the card. When they hand over the receipt. Apparently the same order of two pizzas and two cream cheese now turn out to 71 dollars. Immediately seems a bit off to me and I ask if someone can verify the prices with me. Since the receipt I was handed and showed didn't include a breakdown of the food. Eventually I managed to get someone to hand me a menu. All the items had increased about 5 dollars and totally different prices from the ones online at the moment. Very upset but I guess prices change and what can you do. I understand inflation even though that definitely seems a bit steep for me. That's unfortunately not where it ends. They continue the breakdown and get this. There's a 5 percent card fee. Not just for what you'd expect to be normal. Which is amounts under 5 or 10 dollars like these places use to have before. Just a flat fee of 5 percent. Definitely seems predatory. To top it all off with some icing 10 dollars of a mandatory service charge for picking up my own pizza and waiting for it to be ready with bad service. Never heard of a pizza place that charges a mandatory fee for you to pick up your own pizza without even mentioning it to you. A whole 18 percent for handing me 2 cardboard boxes. I used to like this place and would eat here all the time when I worked the night shift. Never left a waiter with less than a 10 dollar tip for my 20 dollar meal at the time. However forcing me to pay a service charge for just picking up my stuff is just downright wrong. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place anymore.

Edit: Owner replied like he does to everyone else who leaves a bad review. Thinking he's smart and doesn't need customers money. No wonder this place is going so downhill. More 1 star reviews than anything else but I guess hes the business professional. Messed up so bad they have to charge you 20 percent to pick up your own pizza. It's not my job to pay your employees. Tips are for when you receive service. Somehow you think its ok to charge someone who came to pick up their own pizza the same as someone dining in. Kind of the entire point of picking up your own pizza is to avoid fees. How about you do a better job of paying your employees yourself. Can guarantee they get very little if not no part of the mandatory "service charge" No need to tell me to go somewhere else. There's more than enough places that aren't a complete scam with a useless owner that can't take criticism. Any 5 star review was from when this place actually had decency. I normally go at night to get my cafe con leche for the next morning and never had a problem. The people who work at night have always been very nice to me and attentive. Last week, I made the mistake of coming in the daytime to get my cafe con leche. The first thing that happened was I asked for 3 café con leche. She gives me 1 colada. I politely tell her no colada 3 café con leche. So then she makes 2 more coladas. Then hands me 3 coladas, then tells me to pay. I tell her no you don't understand (in Spanish). I don't want coladas. I want 3 café con leche. I explained that the café con leches come in a bigger cup. So then she gets the bigger cup pours the colada into the bigger cups. Leaving the cups half empty then trying to charge me more for the bigger cups. I then again explained a 4 time that I want café con leche. NOT 3 COLADAS. so then she adds some milk to each of the colada. They were the color of petroleum it was un drinkable. It's unfortunate you lost an old client. I will never...

Got stuck in Miami because of a flight delay. This was the only restaurant open at 1130pm. Ordered a mushroom large pizza. The crust was about an inch thick with no taste or flavor. For the size of the pizza and quality the price was ridiculously high and most galling was an automatic 18% service charge for a pick up order!!

The large pizza is about 14 inches in size and 8 cut

Crust - the crust has literally no flavor. It was cooked thru but when it is a inch thick .. it's no longer pizza it's a slab of bread. Very expensive bread!!

Sauce - the tomato sauce also was flavorless. It was almost just tomato paste with no flavor other than canned tomato puree flavor.

Maybe some folks prefer their pizza like Nikki's makes it but compared to others this is very poor quality. Especially more so when it costs $19 + a forced 18% service fee for...
