It was a Saturday night and we visited this location to celebrate a birthday. This was our first time there. We were a party 8, later became a 10 with a couple that came in about 30 mins after. We ordered the guac and it was delicious, fresh but lacked salt. Thats okay. I know we were a relatively large party but the place did not look busy. A few more tables sitting and eating, one table with a few patron enjoying buckets of beer. I really wanted to have a margarita, I was looking forward to a drink with my meal. A Mexican cuisine restaurant on a Saturday night, in Miami, informed us that they dont have margaritas because they lacked the mix (I presume) thats a really bad sign. Someone was playing music on the jukebox, the location is a small one so it was really loud.
Anyway, after the apps came the food was ordered. We also got nachos as an app. The food took another 45 mins to come out with no real heads up. We didnt have silverware or plates for us to enjoy our apps, they served the food before even giving us silverware. So those that had gotten their food couldnt even eat until they actually handed us forks and knives. I ordered the corn esquite and a quesadilla. The rest of my party plus the individuals that came 30 mins after me got their food first. Tried asking about my food but no server insight. I was muching on the nachos we had gotten as an app, so I wasn't going without food. Seemed everyone was enjoying their meals.
Eventually, once everyone was basically done with their meals did my food appear, just the corn mind you, but I cancelled it - partly because I was already full from the apps and partly because everyone was done eating their food. They boxed up the corn anyway. We all decided to wrap up the dinner, forego dessert or singing happy birthday because it will take too long and go somewhere else.
Before leaving the location, a member of our party witnessed a roach crawl from what seemed to be the floor or behind the booth she was sitting (against the wall), up the wall and behind the framed photos. At that point we were all disgusted and just wanted to get out of there. I hate wasting food but I did not eat the corn that was packed away. I was annoyed by my experience and I know it's Miami (it's humid, we have bugs) but damn, its a restaurant and the patrons dont want to see roaches on your walls. We will not visit...
Read moreI was a regular customer, who came here often. Every time we came to this restaurant, something was bad. Either the meat in the tacos pastor was dry and old, or an entree was not made as specified in the menu. But my family and i always came back, sadly last night my family and i decided we would never come back.
The total time from sitting down, to ordering, recieving our food, and paying, took 2 hours. I ordered a huarache, and the kitchen did not prepare it the way listed on the menu. They forgot the cilantro, and onions, two ingredients that add to the overall flavor. I asked our waitress for some cilantro and onions, and watched as she asked the kitchen for it, and was ignored by the kitchen for more than 10 minutes. I had to stand up, and wait in front of the kitchen for my cilantro and onions. And watched as the two women in the kitchen clearly were ignoring our waitresses requests. The kitchen did such a terrible job, that I called the owner of the restaurant while there, and placed a complaint.
The tacos pastor we ordered were SO dry and OLD that I could not believe the kitchen would serve something so disgusting. The chips they were sending out with our guac and queso fundido were fried way too long, and had a burnt flavor.
Sad to say, my family and i will be looking for a new go to Mexican restaurant. Save yourself a trip, and check out another mexican restaurant. This one is in its closing stages, surprised if this restaurant is open more than...
Read moreCame here on a Friday night and it was packed. It took a while for someone to notice we were seating on the patio until the table next to me got fed up and went inside to get someone’s attention. Apparently they have $1 tacos on Wednesdays and Fridays. I ordered steak, al pastor and a chicharrón tacos, as well as a sope de chorizo along with a michelada. Alex, my server was nice albeit a bit timid, once she noticed we were there she made sure we had everything we needed. The food was alright , the steak taco was bland, the al pastor resembled a pork tenderloin on a red sauce which is a far cry from a real al pastor taco. The sope was okay, the dough which it was made out of had a sweet cinnamon taste reminiscent of churro dough, I was not a big fan of it. The highlight of the meal was the chicharrón taco which had a nice balance of softness and crunchiness to it. The michelada was good as well. I wouldn’t mind coming back to try other things on their menu, which offers dinner and...
