Very nice size skate park with great capacity and a variety of ramps, stairs and a large bowl. The park is usually pretty clean and there are plenty of benches to sit down on. They have have added articificial turf and small trees to the outsides as well, which gives the park a nice little vibe while sitting around. The people are very nice and every once in a while you'll run into pro skaters who come to hang out. The park has highly experienced staff who offer 1 on 1 and group sessions for those in need of coaching. I've been coming here religiously with my wife and kids on the weekends over a year now, as we all skate. We absolutely love the park and the staff. It is hands down the best skate park in Miami
The park itself deserves 5 stars, but there are some concerns, as stated by others. Due to the fact that it is placed under the highway, there are a few blind spots to watch out for with the large columns. If you are inexperienced, you may feel overwhelmed by the traffic of skaters around you coming from every direction. Park hours are have improved, but they should open a bit earlier in my opinion. The portable restrooms need better attention. They are always filthy, missing toilet paper and randomly used by the homeless nearby. Lastly, I have seen people using drugs in a few of my visits, and I feel this should be looked at for the sake of the younger skaters. Another thing I've noticed, is that you have to check to see if the park is open beforehand, because they close it for private use and events every now and then. I've wasted my time and gas driving there a couple of times, only to find out they werent open. (Check their Instagram for park status). No park is perfect, but Lot 11 is always improving, and I'm sure these issues will get resolved over time.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this park to local and visiting skaters. Whether you're a beginner or advanced skater, you'll have a great time and find something for your level of skating. The bowl is awesome, and everyone is great at taking turns, so you're guaranteed to get some time in. I have left my belongings unattended a few times, and nobody has ever touched my stuff. I've made some good friends at this park, and its had a very positive impact on the community. Parking is right across the street, and is relatively cheap. If you have questions, the staff is more than happy to help. Come check it out!!!...
Read moreFist off you can tell who reviewed this place just to get the Google Local Reviewer clout so don't take their word for it lmao. And secondly, the park has been the best thing to happen to the Miami skate scene in a long time and frankly everyone is enjoying it. The dudes at SKATE FREE who designed and did most of the work to get the park up and running and continuously keep updating the park with new additions. From the heavily demanded water fountain, to hearing out from the locals on replacement or new obstacle changes. Its grown the scene a lot more and intriguing newbies to give skating a try which is great to see. The park is big enough for even crowded days but you just have to avoid the little kids who don't know any park etiquette but thats not really the fault of the park and we can teach them how to behave accordingly. But if you're not into that, there is always space really early or later in the afternoon. All in all the park is great and with the constant attention its getting from those who helped make it possible and the locals, its sure to last a long time. BTW don't contemplate going, just go to it...
Read moreI went to see a friend skate for an event and I brought my service dog with me. Someone named Richie did everything in his power and kicked me out because of my service dog. I tried to explain to him over and over again that he’s not a pet. He’s a service dog and he just refused to understand. My dog is a registered dog under federal and Florida law and Richie had the nastiest attitude towards me, was aggressive in the way that he spoke to me, kept screaming, raising his voice and being super rude about it. He insisted that he didn’t care that my dog was a service dog and forced me to leave. It took me a long time to get there and he was completely insensitive to the fact that I had a service dog who is there and has a purpose for my disability. He tried to turn other people against me when I just simply wanted to watch my friend skate for an hour. I left very emotional and just very disappointed at how I...
