Piccola Italia — Restaurant in Miami

I posted a 1 rating four years ago with good reason but sadly, for us the customers, they haven’t changed. THEY NICKEL AND DIME THEIR CUSTOMERS.

I ordered an “extra large” pizza with 4 toppings. On their website, piccolaitaliamiami.com, their full menu pdf shows an x-large (which is no where near an x-large btw) at $17.99. I order this and a 20oz coke. The lady tells me my total is $26.02. I decide to drive over and pick up my order but there I see that the receipt she has for my order is actually $23.52!! I ask her why she told me on the phone “$26.02” and her explanation, “it was a mistake” and gives me back the difference. However, I also saw on her receipt that I was charged $19.00 for the pizza. She calls the owner and he tells me to get their app because there the price is correct. Despite the fact that I showed him that the PDF ON HIS WEBSITE, “piccolaitaliamiami.com” shows $17.99 AND the paper menu posted in the store shows $17.99, he would not listen to me. Finally, after further arguing, the lady gives me the pizza at the advertised $17.99 price but I am not coming back here. Had I not noticed the two price discrepancies I would have over paid by $5 to $7 dollars more including tip.

Not only is customer service bad, don’t take their word on what the final cost is, ask for the receipt or better yet, DON’T GIVE PICCOLA...

I had ordered a medium pizza through door dash and it didn’t let me add a ranch to the order and I called piccolo pizza to let her know that if they could include a ranch on the side since I wasn’t able to buy one or add one to my order through the app . When I called and spoke to the woman who is working there because we order here all the time and have been for Over 3 years , her response was “ well who’s going to pay for the ranch “ I can’t do that I cannot add a ranch to your order and mind you the whole time she is being super rude ! Horrible customer service !!! It’s unfortunate because we have been long time customers of this pizza place .I ended up canceling the door dash order ! Learn how to keep your customers lady !! It was just one small side...

I was surprised. There is a strong latino/hispanic presence to cater toward around this area.

Their pizza sauce doesn't taste like fake tomatoes. The toppings are placed to the end of the crust. I am a fan of thin crust which is what they do. It's not vegan or gluten free, the toppings are not organic or locally sourced but the overall taste and presentation are good.

Customer service isn't happy-go-lucky. Price is reasonable. Order pick-up. The owner wants to know who is trying his pizza. He may give it to you free if it's your first visit (show ID).

If you are new in town (I am), you should try their pizza. It will probably be the best you find. I'll come back but will...
