This place is a disappointment if you expect an Italian meal where they actually serve you a full meal. The atmosphere is lovely, but any respectable Nonna would be disappointed with the food situation that this place is pulling together.
They give a cute dialogue about not choosing any this but meat or fish and they take care of everything for you, but in reality you chose between 4 dishes and the only other thing the meal comes with is a bread service that is not good, and a antipasto that is mediocre at best!
Caponata was nice, but nothing special, Russian salad (cubed frozen vegetables with mayo and hard boiled eggs) we didn’t touch, and tomato’s with stale bread was nothing to write home about. The Vitello tonnato and beet dish with actually pretty nice, but it was one bite each.
There is no primi or pasta course, and we opted for the steak, which was maybe 10oz of Sirloin. Was salted very poorly, some pieces were wildly salty and some had none.
Dessert is separate, which is a bit crazy considering they maybe have $20 of food cost into the meal we had at $140 for two people! That said the chocolate cake was delicious.
Lastly, we went for our anniversary and made them aware, it was even on the reservation confirmation they sent us from toast, and there was no mention that we were there celebrating a special occasion or anything…which is fine, but a missed opportunity to deliver a nice experience.
If you want instagram story and nothing else, it is a fine place to go. If you care about a good meal and or great service, hard pass…there are many better options in Miami at the price point that actually serve a fantastic meal!
We should have read the infatuation review before going…hope they will adapt and...
Read moreI came here due to a few videos on instagram and I feel such a let down. First let me start off with the positive , the service was great , very attentive described every course. Now with my experience first, what was this appetizer— beer carpaccio, potatoes salad, tomatoes , and some weird tuna thing with goat cheese and nuts? Ohhh, and let’s not forget the eggplant with chocolate— does any of that combination sound appetizing to you? Yes, very disappointed, and I am not a picky eater, but I think something simpler yet appetizing will be better received . Now let’s get into the main course, the lobster pasta— for two people, they gave us half a lobster. It was half of a tail for two people and one claw. It was literally ridiculous for a bill that was almost $300. It’s absurd and subpar . Now the dessert— the tiramisù. Where are the cookies ? It was just crème . I am so dissatisfied and will not be back . It’s so unfortunate . However, the ambiance outside is nice, and so is the bathroom, but as an avid restaurant goer, I can emphasize enough how it was simply just not worth it for me . I would rather spend $300 on a party for 2...
Read moreWhat makes this place truly special is the element of surprise … there’s no menu. You simply show up and choose between meat or fish, and from there, the experience unfolds.
We opted for fish and were blown away. The lobster pasta alone would have been worth the visit, but we were also served a beautifully cooked snapper and an incredible array of appetizers—all included. At $140 for two people, it’s nearly impossible to find this level of quality, quantity, and service at that price point in Miami. It’s a true steal.
Drinks are another highlight: cocktails are just $17, and the wine list is refreshingly affordable. The ambiance is high-end. White tablecloths and top-tier Italian service with a warm, welcoming vibe. The owners themselves were serving tables, and if you know Mattia’s background (he even has a book on hospitality), you’ll appreciate how deeply service is woven into the experience.
What I love most is that the menu will always keep me guessing, which means I’ll be back again and again to see what’s next. If you’re looking for a classy, delicious, and surprisingly affordable date night in Miami, San Lorenzo...
