Today the celebration of Father's day in Miami, I thought it was a good idea to go and eat at San Pocho Restaurant, WHAT A MISTAKE !!!. San Pocho WAS a very good establishment to eat economically before the Covid era, food WAS very good, the service WAS more amicable and you had a free will to put whatever you wanted to leave a tip. Nowadays, menu prices are literally DOUBLE what you paid before the pandemia, service is terrible, they probably have a new chef which has no idea how to prepare Colombian food. For example, the empanadas in every Colombian restaurant have a thin layer, not at San Pocho, the covering layer is so thick it looks like you are having chicken from KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken), they don't bring any more lemon or 'picante' and ON TOP OF ALL THAT they have a new menu that states " they can change the price of the food any day at any time without notice to the client" To make matters worst they force you to pay a 15% tip, not only on the food you have consumed but ALSO TIP THE TAX that you are paying.

The menu at the table DOES NOT SAY ANYWHERE that you are going to be charged that amount of gratuity If you ask why they treat you like an ignorant and raise their voice so all customers are aware of the discrepancy. If you refuse to pay they will call the police on you because you are DO NOT want to pay their bill. Even though IT IS NOT written in the menu in any of the pages.

You know if the service was a 10-star service like the one Monserrate Restaurant in Coral Gables had I would gladly pay 20% gratuity. All waiters and or waitresses had a uniform and from the moment you enter the restaurant you were greeted by one of their personnel (waiter or not), then you were accompanied to a table, seated and a menu was given with a list of suggestions from the menu. NOT AT SAN POCHO!!!

Here in San Pocho all waiters and waitresses wear street clothes, jeans, t-shirts, some of them with baseball caps and sneakers. For all those who are NOT Colombians, when you go to a Restaurant in Colombia, (5-star) waiters and waitresses have a uniform, and they treat you with respect, and they really go the extra mile so you can feel welcome.

San Pocho may have ¼ of a star and that is probably why the poor service from the moment...

I’ve been a customer of this place for 5 years only because it is one of the only Colombian restaurants in the area. The food and service are mediocre. On Saturday I placed an order and PREPAID (VIA CREDIT CARD) for items to pick them up on Sunday morning. I did this because on two occasions before I have ordered the same food items for pick up and they have sold them before I picked them up since they were not prepaid. On Sunday morning I called and told them that the a friend was going to pick up the order since I did not have a car. The lady on the phone said that I.T had to be me who went to the restaurant and refused to help so I hung up the phone, and took an uber to the restaurant. When I got I there the informed me that they canceled my ordered and sold the food items that I had prepaid for the day before. They did not call me or got a confirmation from me to cancel the order which was in a credit card. They simply decided to do that on their own without confirming or contacting me. The lady also lied on the phone and said The was the manager, and the owner confirmed she was not. The owner also confirmed she gave the order to cancel the food but was not informed that the ordered was prepaid. The lady (who lied about being a manager) kept arguing and being completely unprofessional, even went to the extent of saying that she did call and I probably deleted my call log. The owner showed no remorse to my situation and did not even offer an apology for the wrongdoing of her employee. Its clear to me that the owner thinks she is still running a business in South America and does know how to manage her employees, and mishandles customer credit card transactions. She ended up giving me my money back in cash without asking if I wanted it back on the credit card. Their excuse was that I hung up the phone, which seems to me like they purposely and maliciously sold my prepaid food items and made me drive there to be spiteful. Needless to say I will never go to this place again and will make sure to let me network know of the type of treatment they give customers at this place. I recommend La Estacion in Brickell...

Hello all,

My fiancé, brother, his girlfriend and I went to San Pocho to give them a taste of Miami. All in all the food was really good, but the service was horrible. It took the waiter ten minutes to come to our table He stood there looking confused. So we give him our drinks order and he walks away ( mind you he did not speak English and my fiancé had to translate for us). After another ten minutes the waiter comes back with our drinks and we place the order. Between him taking our order and bringing the food he did not return nor look our way. When they did bring the food to our table he set them down and walked away, not saying a word or asking if we wanted more to drink. After he dropped the food off we DID not see him AT ALL. In order for us to get the check the four of us had to wave the waiter down to finally come to our table for us to get the bill. After handing out bill the waiter stood at our table until we gave him the payment. At which point he again does not say anything and walks away. Now he brings us the bill and come to find out the tip is already included in the final price and on top of that he circled the area on the bill that has extra gratuity not added. Hahaha he is crazy to thinks I will A tip him more and B I thinks it’s crazy that they included the tip because the only tip he deserved was how to be a better waiter. So we ask for the manager to come to our table and after three attempts he finally did. When he does we tell him that the service was bad and that we feel that the amount of tip the waiter was receiving was not warranted. So the manager interrupts us and says “it’s written on the menu”. We understand that but the waiter did not deserve it. When I tell you it was as if we were talking to the wall I am not kidding. The whole time we are explaining to the manager how horrible our service was his only response was “it on the menu”.

Awesome service and management!!! We will never be coming back there ever again and don’t recommend it if you do not...

Had an incredible late-night bite at San Pocho on Calle Ocho and it did not disappoint! (it never does!, been coming here for years). We walked in around 10 PM, just an hour before closing, and you’d think we were the first customers of the day with how fresh everything was. We ordered six empanadas, a sancocho de res, and a beef wrap off their late-night menu, and wow, every bite was amazing. The empanadas were crispy and perfectly seasoned, the sancocho was rich, comforting, and full of flavor, and the beef wrap was juicy and loaded with goodness. Even that close to closing, the staff was so welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The service was top-tier, the food came out hot and fresh, and the best part? The prices were super reasonable for the quality and portions we got. Highly recommend if you’re in Little Havana and craving authentic Colombian flavors, especially late at night. Will 100% be coming back!
