It pains me to leave this negative review, as we have been looking forward to trying this place out for months. From start to finish it was an epic fail. We arrived around 6:30 on a Friday night. I expected it to be more crowded. We were relieved it wasn’t. We were hungry and had a child with us! Quickly found a table and went strait to the kitchen to order our food. There was no line! We ordered a nacho appetizer, 2 burgers and chicken fingers. We were handed a buzzer and headed to get some drinks. The line was kind of long and not really moving, as there were people getting samples and the other 2 people behind the bar seemed to only be tending to those sitting at the bar. So it took 15-20ish minutes to even make it to order our beers. Still feeling optimistic we headed to the table. After an additional 20 minutes of sitting there and lots of people coming into the place. We still had no food. When I went to check. I was told, politely that they were doing the best they could- but it would be an additional 15-20 mins. At this point it had been nearly an hour. I went back to the table, honestly, hangry at that point. We proceeded to watch people who had gotten there after us receive there food, eat and leave. We thought about just leaving ourselves. But they make you pay as you order. So there was that. Finally the nachos arrived. There was absolutely nothing that was hot on this. No reason why it should have taken this long. They also brought them twice. 10 minutes later came the chick fingers that were very over cooked and 5 minutes after that came 2 grossly over cooked burgers and waffle fries that had so much seasoning that made them inedible. Not one single manager or anyone came to check on us. From start to finish. OVER 2 Hours! Truly one of the, if not the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I have given the 2 stars solely for the playground, that kept my child at bay during all of this. I realize that they have just opened, but some of the things we experienced are just good business, and customer service. It’s a beautiful place and great concept, but clearly in need of process...
Read moreAs a former brewer and native southwesterner I had high hopes for this place given the beer and food menus. I like the concept of a place you can bring your family that has a kids section. However, there were too many down points for this place. For starters, it's very hard to hear given the acoustics of the building. I was trying to have a normal conversation with my wife and kids but was drowned out by a group of six sitting not to far away. They weren't loud, but we just had to talk very loud to hear each other given the high ceilings. The beer...meh...it's not good and I get that they are still working things out. Hopefully their beer improves. Food was extremely disappointing. The chicken tenders for kids were basically the frozen dyno bites you find at Kroger. The green chile burger was horrible. They use frozen patties that are very low quality. For the price, I expected fresh ingredients. The cheese sauce used for a dip was barely warm and you could tell was whipped up with the most cheap wholesale ingredients. The most noticeable aspect of poor service came was when I tried to close out my bill. I had to stand and wait 15 minutes, while there was only one person on a busy Saturday afternoon. I was there standing and he noticed me standing, however he decided to serve two others who visibly came in after I did. The guy saw me, but figured he'd attend to new customers instead of who was next in line. When he did get to me, he then told me he would be right back. He apparently had to run to the kitchen to deal with staff who were crying and having some personal issues. A female staff member from the kitchen came behind the bar and was crying and pulling her hair. I felt bad, but personal issues should be dealt with behind closed doors. He returned after 10 minutes but left the entire bar empty with no staff. I usually try to promote local business and I get that they are still fairly new, however I do no think I will be returning anytime soon. Hopefully they work our their staffing...
Read moreI would have loved to give this place five stars. The atmosphere is fantastic. There is an evident amount of effort given to making this place aesthetically pleasing and as functional as possible given The retrofitting of an old space.
The playground is large enough to keep kids entertained and there is plenty of seating (albeit bleachers) nearby. The burgers were decent. The green Chile was good, but the patties were thin and very similar to McDonald's. I would have preferred one large party rather than the two. It also would have been nice to have more menus available or QR codes posted throughout the space.
The reason I cannot give five stars is the pricing of the kids menu. There is an obvious pull to serve families given the playground and story behind the origin of this brewery. However, it seems absolutely predatory the way that the kids menu items are priced relative to the portions served. I can in no way justify paying $7.99 FOR FIVE DINO NUGGETS WITHOUT A SIDE OR DRINK. A family size freezer bag of Dino nuggets costs that, if not less. I was absolutely blown away at the pitiful amount of food that came out for my child. The appetizers/chips & dip are cheaper and offer more food. Honestly, adding the chips that come with the burgers and a juice box would be a reasonable way to justify the pricing.
The space could also use some sound absorption panels near the playground. We could barely hear each other speaking right next to each other. This isn't exactly a deal if parents are to actually parent their children in that space.
Service was exceptionally smooth for just a couple days after their...
