Edit: I want to give a shoutout to the co-owner Lauren for such amazing service both times!I was in such a food coma last night I forgot to include that in my review. So, if you are looking for a new place to try, or have been wanting to try SushiNero, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

Second visit to SushiNero in Miamisburg—and honestly, I’m mad. Mad it took me this long to find this place. Mad my stomach wasn’t big enough to handle more than the 11+ dishes we devoured tonight. Mad its not tomorrow already so we could try their Thursday udon special.

Four of us dined tonight; two of us were here just last Wednesday. The unified reaction both times? Softly swearing under our breaths because we couldn’t believe how mind-blowingly delicious everything was. Every. Single. Bite. Not one miss.

Last week’s visit was our warm-up:

-Silky Tonkotsu Kimchi Ramen – I dreamt of this ramen. Deep, creamy, spicy perfection with a richness that stayed with me for days. When Lauren the co-owner told us it took 3 days to make this broth, I believe it. Best tonkatsu broth I have ever had. -Amarillo Roll – Imagine the best crab rangoon you’ve ever had… in sushi form. -Stuffed Piquillo Peppers – We asked to be surprised, and the kitchen overdelivered. -Finished with the best flan I’ve ever tasted—light, smooth, and luxurious.

That ramen alone guaranteed my return. But tonight?

Tonight, we went all in:

-Wednesday ramen special- Tori yuzu ramen, light but with many different levels of depth in flavor, fresh perfect ramen noodles. Amazing. Was so comforting despite the humidity and hot weather outside. -Spicy tuna bites -Pork belly -Faroe Island salmon sashimi Hamachi crudo -Korean fried chicken -Japanese fried chicken -Cranberry creek raw oysters -Sweet chili lime edamame -Stuffed Piquillo Peppers (again—non-negotiable) -Crunchy California roll.

And the drinks? Dangerously smooth and just as memorable:

-Clarified fruit punch(so easy to drink it should come with a warning) -Espresso martini -Blueberry sour -Blackberry smash -Lycheeberry swizzle

The magic behind it all? The chef, who’s from Japan and also lived in Spain, somehow blends those cultural influences into dishes that feel both refined and wildly craveable. Every detail, from broth to garnish, is crafted with intention—and it shows.

SushiNero isn’t just a restaurant. It’s an experience. Go hungry. Go often. And maybe leave room for a third visit—because I’m already planning mine for tomorrow.

Wish I took more pictures but we were too busy...

A couple friend of ours invited us out to eat, and we ended up at this place. Full disclosure: These friends of ours are fast-becoming regulars here, and have been talking up this place for weeks (if not months), so the hype was there, and I was afraid that they wouldn't live up to it.

I was so relieved when they did.

First, my wife and I ordered the Pecan Old Fashioned. This drink is basically liquid candy, and very dangerous. Had to force ourselves to stop at 2 each.

Then, the sushi and other offerings. Where to start? We ordered, among other things, The usagi roll, kimchi dumplings, spring rolls, and something else I can't quite remember. Also ordered at our table were the Spicy Tuna Bites, Crunchy California roll, and Shogun Roll.

Everything. Was. Awesome!!

There's really nothing else to say - If there was a near-perfect dining experience, we had it here.

I said near-perfect. So what wasn't perfect? Honestly, look, it's nit-picky, but here it is: Took some time for us to get our drinks, which indicates to me that they might be a staff member or two short. But honestly, not that big of a deal. Everything was worth the wait.

Whatever these folks are doing, they're doing it right. I hope they don't mess with their formula, because whatever they're doing, it's working. Can't wait to come back and try more...

Holy cow what a gem! Cannot believe we have such a cool, chic, Asian fusion restaurant in Miamisburg. Ordered the Iberian, Usagi, avonut, and Flamenco rolls, as well as the kimchi dumplings, shisito peppers w/marchengo cheese, Japanese fried chicken, and matcha mochi.

Everything was so good. The Iberian roll melted in your mouth. The Avonut was a perfect blend of salty peanut and creamy avocado. Japanese chicken was perfectly moist with amazing sauces. Kimchi dumplings were crispy, slightly spicy, and a real delight with the sauce. The vegetarian Usagi roll was so well balanced with the crispy rice pearls and chimichurri.

It is hard to believe we got such high quality food for such a reasonable price. The tapas plates and sushi rolls were the perfect amount for sharing. Everything was creative, fresh, and unique

Eat local! Check this place out. You won’t be...

My husband and I went on a date here. And we were thoroughly pleased with the atmosphere as well as the menu. My compliments to the chef! We did not meet him personally, but we were told he is Japanese and lived in Spain. From that background, he creates his menu of Japanese and Spanish fusion. It is very unique for the area and I was surprised to find something of this caliber and execution outside of Columbus and downtown Cincinnati. But I could not complain about the price point. (I've seen the things Speakeasy does in Troy and this chef could easily charge more. So glad he does not). If you are looking for something beyond the nerd Japanese core offerings and truly desire a skilled chef making Japanese food, go here. You will not be disappointed.
