I was in town for a fishing tournament, and wanted to have a quick meal before heading to bed early. Thought about a steak for dinner, but wanted to get an appetizer first. I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops. It took a while considering it was about 2pm. When the food arrived, I cut into the first scallop and noticed that the scallop wasn't cooked thoroughly, a bit more rare than not. I ate the first two scallops, but they were chewy and kind of cold in the center. I then began to "unroll" or remove the bacon strip from the scallop and that's when I noticed that the bacon was raw nearest the scallop. Instead of using a half of a strip of bacon, they used an entire strip and it was RAW. I removed the bacon from the remaining scallops and the bacon was raw. I immediately pushed the plate forward (I was sitting at the bar). The bartender looked at the plate with the bacon exposed and asked if I was finished. He never asked me if anything was wrong--I left most of the appetizer on the dish. The lack of attention to the obvious was enough for me to pay the bill and leave. Needless to say, I was nauseous the remainder of the day into the evening and barely made it to the tournament the following morning from the diarrhea that ensued. I will neither return to the Bellevue Tavern, nor...

I’m deeply disappointed by the treatment my group received at this establishment. From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were being treated differently than other patrons. Despite being seated promptly, we were consistently ignored by the servers. Our attempts to get basic service—such as refills, check-ins, or even eye contact—were disregarded, while other nearby tables received attentive and respectful service.

What was most upsetting, however, was what happened as we were leaving. A staff member chased us down in the parking lot, aggressively accusing us of not leaving a tip. We had in fact left one—though in hindsight, given the complete lack of hospitality, it’s troubling to think a tip was expected after how we were treated.

The entire experience felt racially motivated. No customer should ever have to question whether they’re being treated unfairly because of who they are. Unfortunately, this visit left us feeling unwelcome, disrespected, and targeted.

I hope this business takes the time to reflect, retrain its staff, and address the serious issues around customer service and discrimination. No one deserves to be...

A favorite place to visit when in the Cape May County Area. Food and service always top notch. Visited Friday evening with a party of three and lucked out and was able to get a table fairly quickly. They do take reservations so if you go during peak season, highly recommend you take advantage of a quick call to secure your table. I took advantage of their daily special and ordered the Seafood Marinara (scallops, shrimp, crab and mussels in a homemade marinara sauce served over linguine topped with shaved Reggiano) and complimented it with an Angry Osprey IPA from Slacktide Brewery. My meal came with a side salad and a basket of bread also was served. We also ordered the Margherita Flatbread Pizza (Roasted tomatoes, garlic, basil and mozzarella baked on a flatbread with an olive oil base) as well as a Bellevue Burger (Fresh ground sirloin burger with lettuce and tomato.) All in all, a great meal after a busy day of traveling and settling in. I never had a bad experience and always enjoy returning.

Was looking for a quick bite to eat after taking our kids to the zoo and stopped here. Super cute little place and the food was decent. There was a woman though who I think was responsible for table clearing (not the waitress, she was great) who kept coming up to our table and making weird remarks to my kids. Saying things like she was going to eat there food and that they better watch out before she takes them away. The first time I brushed it off but the second and third were extremely uncomfortable. I honestly grabbed my son at one point because she got so close to him and was in his face, touching him. It's really unfortunate because I thought the food was pretty good but my family and I just felt so uneasy. I'm not sure if I'd go back but I wouldn't recommend if you have little kids.

Stopped in for lunch today and we enjoyed our visit. Before I talk about the food, I must say they had the cleanest glassware and silverware I have ever seen for an establishment of this type. The calamari appetizer was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The Cape May Scallops were grit free and wrapped in crispy bacon. The grilled Ruben was cooked to perfection with a nice amount of corned beef and the Turkey Avacado Club wrap was filled with fresh turkey, avacado and crispy bacon. The personal pizza had a soft crust which my daughter really enjoyed. We can't wait to come back and have a go at the dinner menu.
