Nestled just 10 minutes away from Avalon in the quaint town of Cape May Courthouse, our recent visit to this new restaurant was nothing short of spectacular. Despite the occasional delay from the bridge, the short journey was well worth it for the culinary experience that awaited us.
We started our meal with the bread tray, featuring fresh, homemade bread delivered straight to our table. The aroma and warmth of the bread set the perfect tone for the evening.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the pork chop. Prepared using the sous-vide method, the pork chop was vacuum-sealed with spices and cooked at a low temperature for hours. The result was a heavenly, moist chop that was as tender as butter—I could have easily cut it with my fork. It was a taste sensation that we never experienced before.
Our server, Jessica, was an absolute delight. Her bubbly and lively personality lit up the room from the moment we arrived. She was incredibly suggestive, offering great recommendations from the menu that perfectly suited our tastes. Jessica was always ready to help with a smile, making our dining experience smooth and enjoyable. Her warm and friendly demeanor made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Overall, Jessica's exceptional service and vibrant energy added a special touch to our meal.
Also we enjoyed homemade pasta with a fabulous pork ragu sauce. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the ragu was rich and flavorful, making it an unforgettable dish.
Although we were tempted by the dessert menu, we found ourselves too full to indulge. Nonetheless, our dining experience left us completely satisfied and this meal was the best of our trip.
If you're near Avalon and looking for an exceptional dining experience, this restaurant should be at the top of your list. We only wish there was a more extensive menu from this master chef. We can't wait to return! Please feel free to share...
Read moreToday is my birthday and also the last day my boyfriend gets to eat anything before he goes on this diet. And, it's also a day before our 10 months. We ordered the bread and meatballs as an appetizer and both were really good. when we ordered our entrées, I got the ravioli and it was legitimately six raviolis the center had pesto and just marinara. For $35. Not gonna lie I enjoyed it, but I could've made the same thing at home. HOWEVER, when my boyfriend ordered the Alfredo it came out so undercooked. I kindly asked if we could send it back and he can just order something different. He got the venison which we thought was pure venison and no pasta. However it was pasta and guess what it, was even more undercooked. It was white and hard in the center. I'm unsure if they got a new chef? Because a couple years ago I loved this place. Just don't come here honestly, way too pricy...
Read moreI don’t think there’s enough space to adequately describe how delicious our meal was at Petunia on opening night. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you’re at a friends house for dinner. It’s so intimate, inviting, and gorgeous inside! If you don’t start with bread and butter, ricotta meatballs, and crab mac bake, you will absolutely be sorry. Everything was incredible. The three of us made sure to order different entrees so we could taste as many dishes as possible. By the end of the meal, we could not pick a favorite. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the sauces were incredibly flavorful and tasted so fresh, and the portion sizes are BIG in the best way. It’s the perfect setting for a date night or a girls night, and we will absolutely come back sooner...
