Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Middletown Township

This place is not going to survive long if they keep up this business model of ripping people off. My wife noticed small print that said all the smoothies come with Turbinado. We asked the cashier about it who said that it’s can sugar. We asked if we could get all of our smoothies without and he said yes. The mothers are essentially 90% ice, I watched them make it, and 10% fruit. The sugar makes up for the lack of real fruit sugar. It was terrible to say the least and the audacity for someone to serve something so horrible and then charge $8 for it is out of this world. Food is good and smoothies are very good. It isn't fine food but is carefully prepared. I've been to two of their stores and the staff was very accommodating at both. We ordered our meals with changes to the menu and there was no hesitation to do it. One smoothie had a lot if ice in it. This place is the best. Their smoothies are so tasty. I have tried all the flavors including the seasonal ones. So yummy!!! I have noticed the temperature is much cooler in the store during the winter months and the associates are wearing summer tee shirts. It would be nice to see the team in warmer company attire.
