Hook Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in Middletown

This was the first time trying HooKS chicken & fish, it will be my last, I ordered 2 meals from verity Pkwy store little over 20 bucks. They were running a couple coupons so I tried using the $5 off coupon which clearly states 5off my order over $5. I got into a verbal argument over this coupon ( I have pic of it) because they had no intention of redeeming it, she calls the owner & apparently he told her do not honor my coupon because it was supposed to say$5 off an order over $ 50 dollars. ? It wasn't my typo it was theirs, I told this lady IDC what it's supposed to say I can read what it says. Was in this place over 30 mins over there screw up with there own coupon s, DIDNT HONOR THAT COUPON & I BELIEVE THEY CHANGED THE WORDING TODAY. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE & THE OWNER DIDNT HONOR MY COUPON &if anything he should have gave me a thank you for pointing out the coupon in the first place. Place is run down and just dirty looking. I should have turned around based on that alone but no I proceeded to cash register and ordered. The lady was very nice but the necessities of working in a kitchen were missing. IE eating in front of customers and sucking on your fingers before bagging up the food is a definite NO-NO & DROPPING anything( (a ranch cup) on the floor and wiping it is off then bagging is a NO-NO. Anyways, I tried to eat the food anyways (MY BAD judgement). I was sick about 10 minutes after eating 1/2 a chicken tender and some pudding. This morning woke up with a fever, chills, stomach cramps. Not 100% sure if it was the food, but please be aware before venturing out to their store, it’s not the cleanest and the Breiel Blvd & Trenton locations are close enough by that it’s worth the drive. My wife and both ordered the gyros. The meat was old and burnt. The pita bread was old and dried out as well. The French fries looked like they were cooked in oil that has been sitting in the fyer for over a month. My wife ordered fried mushrooms and we were given fried pickles instead. When we told the lady that rang us up , she wanted to argue with us and gave us an attitude from then on. We waited for over 20 minutes for our food. Her child was outside playing but then came inside and wiped his sweaty forehead right where they store the orders that need to be picked up behind the counter. Both my wife and myself after about an hour trying to eat the food, got nauseous and had to throw it up.
