June 28, 2024 - Middletown has a great ICE CREAM parlor along the Old National Pike, called More Ice Cream! My wife and I lived across the mountain years ago in Keedysville, Middletown is halfway , on our routine trips into Frederick. Usually we’d stop for gas, or building supplies, or lunch at the Main Cup. . . so we’re thrilled for this Ice Cream parlor. 1st time for us stopping in with our Grandkids for dessert, at More’s. Opened in 2014 by Jim Kehoe. Originally this spot was a Lutheran Parish house, built in 1848. Thank you Jim . . . for incorporating the original structure of the home ! As a former American History teacher, I love the nostalgic photos of Middletown’s high school heroes up on the walls of your ice cream shop! Of course , the many flavors of Garber’s (1912) Ice Cream are wonderful! Our group included 3 generations , no problem selecting our favorite flavors of ice cream! Your high school staff were helpful & professionals! Our daughter from rival Urbana high school remembered her field hockey games against Middletown girls , a tough rivalry! Then out to the big ā€œwrap aroundā€ porch to enjoy our desserts! Our little 2 & 4 year old Grandkids liked playing in the side yard. Felt safe away from the Main street traffic. Thank you ! We’ll certainly stop in again for More Ice Cream , on our way into Middletown, MDšŸ˜ƒšŸ‘šŸ¼ šŸ¦ Ice Cream Licks šŸ¦ Did you know . . . . . ? *More Ice Cream is on Oldest U.S. road, National Pike , constructed 1811 - 1834 *Scholars suggest frozen treats traced to 550 BCE to Persians ( sharbat, Gelato) *Marco Polo’s travels to Asia , 13th century, Discovered ā€œ milk iceā€ from Kublai Khan *1700 Maryland Royal Gov. served ice cream *George Washington & Tom Jefferson would have ice cream at their homes *Jefferson 1st President to serve ice cream *1846 Nancy Johnson invents new ice cream hand crank machine *1851 Jacob Fussell starts 1st U.S. ice cream business Save (tummy)room when visiting More’s Ice Cream in Middletown, MD šŸ˜ƒšŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ¦

It was my first time coming to the shop, friendly employees, good ice-cream licking flavors, and a very true sign of ā€œyou’ll want moreā€ blew me away. Its cheaper than Baskin Robins for sure and my family and I really couldn’t leave without one more cone. 10/10 I recommend.

One scoop of ice cream and one brownie, no whipped cream, no cherry. Two orders of one scoop and one brownie almost 19 dollars??? YIKES.

UPDATE* I found out there are multiple places that advertise Moore’s Ice Cream. If you go to the actual website it does say closed until April. Best ice cream hands down!! We drive an hour round trip to get their ice cream. The owner and staff are very pleasant and eager to help!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

We come to More Ice Cream quite often. We rely on your website for ACCURATE information. We do not live locally, so it is a planned trip. Your website states for winter hours you are only closed Monday. Made a trip over only to find out you are only open Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Made a trip over on a Sunday around 3pm and you were closed. However, your website said you were open. Today, we once again checked your website. OPEN. We get there, and we find a small piece of paper taped to the window, ā€œclosed todayā€. You are our favorite ice cream place. Yet your business and website is proving to...

Great ice cream shop in a historic building.. clean, welcoming, nice young adults working there, and of course the ice cream was fantastic. A destination we take our kids to in Middletown.. can't say enough great things about More's.. beyond offering a nice selection of ice cream, it's the cleanest ice cream shop I've ever been around. Tables were all wiped down, not a smear on them, place was so well put together, plenty of seating inside, out, and upstairs. Historic building, rose bushes and grounds tastefully done. Classic ice cream shop. Save yourself the drive to the creamery/farm outside of town, stick to More's Ice Cream. I'd give it "More"...
