Yiayia's Cafe — Restaurant in Middletown

Edit : Thanks to the owner for replying. I was wrong with the timeline, I thought I waited 35-40 minutes when it was about 20. I guess time moves slower when you’re hungry. I’ll raise the rating a point for caring to reply on their part, thanks!

I’ll be frank : I want to give Yiayia’s a higher score because the staff was friendly, there’s a nice view, and you can very clearly tell the food is made from scratch. The burrito and the hash had that taste where you can tell it’s hot off the pan and has lingering flavors from the previous thing that was cooked on it (in the best way!). I waited about 20 minutes for a burrito and hash and there were only 4-5 tables that had people on it. It was a little longer than I’d have liked but the staff was nice. Also, the menu said 11 bucks for the burrito and I was charged 16 and change? I’m assuming the hash was extra since home fries are standard, but all you have to do is say so and you don’t upset a customer. I absolutely love this local cafe and lodging place. Can’t say I’ve slept here but sure will share with family when they visit. I have eaten here a few times and am writing this review because I have found the most noteworthy menu item here - and I ate every bit of it!!! Sooo delicious! The menu is loaded with American fare but also legitimate Greek culinary specialities which are prepared exceptionally well! After dining on the greet meatball pita for brunch today — I’m sold! Coffee was hot, porch inviting and service was excellent! I wasn’t rushed, was greeted warmly and enjoyed the comfort of home dining but outside my home! The other night my wife and I had dinner at YiaYia’s Café, and it was one of the most memorial dinners we ever had in Newport County (we are locals and try to visit different restaurants in the area). They just started serving Dinner and the food is amazing. The menu is authentic Greek cuisine which was great. I had the Greek Lasagna (please don’t make me spell the name or pronounce it!) beside butchering the name the dish as 5 stars… My wife had the Lamb Chops and she didn’t want to share any of it, it was that good.
