Bruster's Real Ice Cream — Restaurant in Midlothian

I like it. Much more affordable than Coldstone and still good quality.

Update 11/22/2021 I've been getting ice cream at this same shop for a year now, at least. This time I ordered the same sunday I've been ordering since the first time I came. The lady made it in a tiny cup, hands it to me and I look at her like what's this? I ask if this is the Sunday I ordered because it always comes in a big clear bowl. She says that she's always made this Sunday in this cup, with a kind of annoyed tone. So now idk what to say, is she calling me a liar? So I say okay and walk back to the car. My wife comments what's that? I was like idk the lady said this is how she makes it. My wife agreed with me and she went back to talk to the lady who gave her an attitude and said she'd remake it. Throwing the previous one away then storming around the shop making the ice cream. Idk I was there with my family, brother's family etc. It just ruined our mood. Like we did something wrong.

----------- Update 11/14/2022 This place is hit or miss, depending on who's working. Past few visits it's been a good experience. Now again a bad one.

This time I decided to order an ice cream pie. Ordered two days in advance. When I got it it looked like a kindergartner did the lettering. No joke, it was all over the place and written off the pie.

------- Update 10/1/2023 Thought I'd try again and nope. Never coming back. I ordered my usual reses cup Sunday. I posted a pic this time. Pic says it all. $8 for that. And they forgot the hot fudge .

I ordered an ice cream cake from here. It was very simple to do, and you can even do it online! You can customize everything that goes into your cake! We did chocolate cake with fudge filling and mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was by far the most delicious ice cream cake I have ever had! It wasn't overly priced even though it was an ice cream cake. Originally, we went to publix and were met with issue after issue trying to order an ice cream cake in store. Then we found Brusters online and realized we could do this very easily, customize the cake the way we want, and pick up when we need all for a reasonable price!! After I ordered, Brusters sent me a text confirming my order was received and an email with my receipt for the order and payment. I have never received any more messages from them or emails! Which is nice since usually when you buy something online, you have agreed to that company spamming you. 2 weeks later, I showed up to pick up my cake. They have a different window for picking up online orders, so you don't have to wait in line behind people trying to order ice cream. The man who helped me was very friendly and asked my name and off he went to get my cake! He even gave me instructions to remove the cake from the freezer 10 minutes before cutting. My son was very happy I came through with the exact cake he wanted! Thank you, Brusters, for making his birthday cake dreams a reality and giving me bonus...

It has been about 12 years since my last visit. Not because of any bad experience, but just because we had moved out of state & when we moved back all the kids were grown & off living their lives making their future bright. As the sole caregiver to my mom when she ask if we could stop for an ice cream cone (she was thinking dairy queen on the next corner), I suggested Brusters. Excitedly she said are they still open? She was surprised and even more excited when she saw the answer to her question. they were still here and open to serve up their homemade ice cream & sweet treats. It was nice to see the much-needed improvements that have been made sometime in the past many yrs. They have more outdoor seating around and behind the building & a nice playground for the little one's to enjoy playing in & on while learning that sand will stick to everything when your sticky sweet. 😀 As always the service is friendly grounds were clean & no trash was thrown around. I enjoyed a double-scoop waffle cone w/a scoop of pistachio & a scoop of coconut cream pie ice cream. Both flavors are amazing! Mom enjoyed her strawberry 2 scoop just as much! Was a great day to enjoy the simple things...
