We always have a great experience here. The food is great and the staff is friendly. The other evening we went for dinner after my husband had a particularly rough day at work. It was a Friday so they had a live guitarist (first time we went on a Friday I don't know if this is a regular thing that they do). There were lots of other families there that were obviously enjoying the music. The atmosphere made it fun. My husband ordered the fish soup. Well, the fish came out partially raw and he was joking with a waiter about serving him sushi. They quickly prepared him another bowl (and discounted our ticket without asking) before my food was cold. We also had coffees. When our server refilled our coffees somehow tea got mixed in. I actually drank half a cup of tea-coffee before my husband brought it to my attention they were mixed which made everybody laugh harder. I was wondering why the coffee tasted different... Anyway, he said after a hard day all of those small things made him relax and enjoy his night. Which was really fortunate because we have gone there several times and everything has always been perfect. It's interesting because we have driven past this place for three years and never realized it existed. You know, it's the one Mexican restaurant that 1) my daughter will actually order a meal at and eat 2) reminds my husband of home. So yeah, you could say we like it.
I just cannot, cannot, canNOT describe the wait staff in words that would do them justice and I am PICKY when it comes to people. I always have something to say when we leave and I never do here. Except there is this one guy that looks like he...
Read moreHere lately our dining experiences have fallen short not just in the service department but the food as well. Last night I ordered Chile Colorado which is stewed beef or pork chunks in a red sauce. It's red because of the peppers used in the sauce. However, I was served plain old beef stew which inundated the entire plate. It covered my beans, my rice, my pico de gallo and my guacamole! When I asked the waiter about it, referencing the picture on the menu, he went and grabbed one, politely arguing with me the color of the sauce in the picture, stating its redish-brown and then asked if I wanted something else. I declined, it didn't taste bad or anything, I was looking forward to what I'd ordered since I hadn't had it in a while. Also, having, what are supposed to be cold items, now warm, due to the amount of sauce was kinda gross. After my comment though, we were kind of forgotten about. No refilling of drinks, no asking if we needed anything. I saw our waiter visiting and even joining the people at a table behind my spouse which was a turn off. If you're actively on the clock with tables you're handling, why are you acting like you're on break or off for the night? Then came time to leave and we had a lot of food left over so we asked for to go containers and all they had were the small boxes and ended up having to use 6 of them to fit what we had left. We used to love eating at Monterey Jack's but last night was kind of the last straw for us. Decades of faithful patronage gone. I hope they get back to what they once were and wish them luck...
Read moreI ordered a margarita with my meal and when the tab came my Rita was listed as “open price menu” and cost $10.99. It didn’t seem right it wasn’t a big margarita and it wasn’t a specialty drink.
We paid the waiter but I asked at the front how much a margarita was. They told me there were 3sizes, small medium and large, large being $9.99. I showed them my receipt and said I was charged $11. The guy I spoke with grabbed another guy, who asked for my receipt akf took off with it. I waited for a response at the front and my waiter came over and asked my problem. I said I thought I was overcharged for my drink, he said we have all kinds of sizes small medium large extra large. The guy who took my receipt never came back with it. A few more employees asked if I needed anything, I explained. Eventually one came back with my waiter, she gave me a dollar and said this is what I was owed. My waiter kept insisting they didn’t have my ticket anymore.
My margarita didn’t seem like a large, I was overcharged regardless at least a few dollars. They didn’t return my customer copy receipt and my waiter said they didn’t have the merchant copy. So it seems to me my waiter tried to rip me off some, then they took my receipt so I didn’t have proof.
We have loved this place for years but I can’t believe I was overcharged for alcohol and lied to about it and my...
