I am so thankful for being an American. I was born in the United States, I currently live in the state of Connecticut, and I’m grateful everyday for all the freedoms we get to enjoy in this great country.
One of the freedoms I enjoy the most is the right to receive free condiments when you order food from a restaurant. Sometimes you may even get free condiments without ordering anything by simply asking nicely.
Today, I had to rely strongly on this freedom to write an opinionated review of my experience from Taco Bell located at 543 Bridgeport Avenue in Milford, CT.
To begin, I want to mention a few attributes of my experience that were at best, slightly above average. I think it’s only fair to include these subjective details not only to provide you the reader with the information necessary to create an opinion of your own, but to also inflate the word count of the review to lure you into the false sense that I have something worthwhile to read about.
The service: I used the drive thru to place my order and surprisingly there was no one else waiting in line during the noontime lunch period. This may have been an omen of what to expect but I’m just going to leave that aside for now. The attendant greeted me and gladly gave me a few extra moments to decide what I wanted to order. After placing my order for a burrito supreme and soft taco combo meal, I pulled forward and was served quickly. The young person who served me didn’t seem overly cheerful but I can certainly understand. I used to work in the fast food industry a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away when I was young too and the only good thing I remember was that I don’t really remember a whole lot about it.
The food: Okay this is where the review goes into an unrecoverable tailspin. I sincerely hope that a qualified person packed your parachute because you’re going to want to jump out of the emergency exits after hearing this.
It was just awful. It was terrible actually. Now before I tell you why I think that just know that this is nothing against the person who actually made the food. I’m sure they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with. All things considered, the burrito and taco appeared to be assembled by an experienced hand. Let us now continue to rapidly lose altitude.
The tortillas were cold, the ground beef left me extremely disappointed and the rest of the toppings were just kinda flavorless. I felt like I was in a dirty bathroom stall and after finishing my business, realizing that the toilet paper is just out of reach. I’m going to have some hard decisions and make special accommodations to help myself out of this situation. That’s where the condiments came to the rescue. Without the free “fire” hot sauce that came with my order, I’d still be fighting for my life to eat the food I ordered.
God bless America for the freedom of free condiments!
The bottom line: If you have the late night munchies and don’t care about the consequences of your actions the morning after or need assistance producing a digestive movement, Taco Bell is somewhere you can go. Otherwise, stay away from here.
Post script: The only reason I’m awarding two stars in this review is because I want to acknowledge the hard working people in trenches of this forsaken establishment. Beyond that, I would...
Read moreWent to this Taco Bell today about an hour ago, there were four employees but all of them were on their phones, and one stopped everything he was doing because he lost $5 and had to look for it. My wife had ordered our meals for pickup so it was literally just a walk in and walk out thing but I sat and waited for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged I was there. Mind you every employee on the clock walked past me at least twice and even looked at me and still no one said anything. I finally just reached a limit and asked a female employee if I should just go through the drive thru because I had been there for that long and nobody acknowledged me there. Told her I had a pick up order and she goes to the back comes back and says it’s not done! It’s 5 tacos in total and my wife ordered them 15 minutes before I even left to pick it up and it was another 5 minute drive to get there so there was a total of 20 minutes they had to make the order and it wasn’t done. The place wasn’t busy as there were no more than 5 people including myself (excluding the employees ) in line to order and the drive thru window had no one there. The girl I guess got upset I had asked about drive thru because the attitude I received was like it was my fault the order wasn’t ready or I wasn’t acknowledged. I work customer service myself and I wouldn’t be able to just walk by a customer without acknowledging them, that’s just bad customer service skills. Maybe have them put the phones down for a few minutes to get actual work done or just fire and hire new employees, this day and age with the economy the way it is,,, I’m sure there are many people who actually want a job and are willing to work, because every employee there doesn’t show that. Been here a few times before and never received poor service as I did today. I’ll give it another shot but if the same thing happened I’ll just go down the street to the one by the mall for my tacos. That establishment is better anyway save for the tight...
Read moreThis used to be the only Taco Bell that made everything correctly, always came through even when they were busy. I used to know the Gm by name just because of how great she ran things. But now, ever since Miranda and a few others left, this is honestly the worst Taco Bell in the area. Everything has gone down hill. Other people that I know in Milford are starting conversations with me about this as well. People are VERY aware that no one cares here anymore. Something has to be done when people you dont know well are asking what the hell happened to the Taco Bell in milford lately. The quality of what theyre willing to put in my burrito has gone way down, they all need to be retrained on what actually goes into the specific things Im ordering, and they all need to be retrained on the amounts. Sincerely, everything Ive ordered since the old employees left has come out to me tasting awful somehow, and always being made incorrectly whether its all the rice in one pocket, and the first half of the burrito is just sour cream and tortilla. Not to mention the attitudes of these people. They play around at night and act like every customer is an inconvenience. These are the kind of employees I cant trust to not spit in my food. I tried giving this location a few more tries after my first bad experience there last month right after the staff change, and every single time Ive wasted my money and been sorely disappointed. I will be driving all the way to Orange for Taco Bell now, and I will be telling everyone that this location has...
