I get off work at 9pm and by the time I get to my neighborhood there arent many places to get dinner so I called this Denny's and called in an order of a turkey sandwich and the cookie w/ice-cream for pick-up and explained that It would take me 30mins to get there because I was waiting on my ride. When I arrived, the cold sandwich wasnt ready and to me that was just a minor inconvenience, no biggie, but after about 10 mins of waiting I looked at the time and it had been near 50mins since I ordered. I wasnt able 2 get the gal's attention at first and another employee walked by so I politely asked if my order was ready and mentioned that my ride was waiting for me. She popped around the corner and back with my meal and after handing it to me, proceeds to start checking my order out, so I pulled out my receipt showing the Denny's logo and told her that I already just paid. She continued and said she needed to check my receipt. I nodded towards the gal who did my checkout and said that she was who checked out my order and to ask her. I tried to get her attention raising my voice a little more each time because she had her back to me and likely couldnt hear me. She was chatting away with a coworker which wouldnt seem like an issue but I couldnt get her attention so she could vouch for me so I could leave. It was unnecessary for me to have to wait extra for the gal to check my receipt on the register when she could have asked her coworker a few feet away if she rang me up. The gal who rang me up didnt stop chatting to see if my sandwich was ready at any point and she had her back to the entrance/checkout area so if me or anyone else was trying ro get her attention she wouldnt have known because I had called to her 4 times when she finally heard me and I was embarassed how loud I had to get. And this was after waiting 10mins when I got there for a cold sandwich that was ordered 30 mins before that. I know it's Denny's so I shouldnt expect top notch service, especially how hard things have been for everyone lately. Read moreNew Review... 11/05/2022 I use to never have a bad experience for the couple times I've been here but today was the worse experience I have had, we were not warned that the food was going to take over 45 minutes, but we did overhear it so we were aware it may be a long wait for food. That was the first mistake our waitress made she did not make us aware of the weight time, secondly after taking our order she never once checked on us I needed a refill on my coffee and never got it. I had to ask another waitress. Our food took a lot longer then anyon... People came after us people that came before all had gotten their food ate and left, and ours still have not, even newer people, had ordered gotten their food. I then asked another waitress to check on our food, she told ours to check and once she did she brought out her food the plates were hot like they had been microwaved and I could touch my biscuits and gravy with none of the gravy moving it was like playdough my daughter's sunny side egg yoke was hard. It was obvious that the food was sitting and waiting and she had never checked on it, and then microwaved it and tried to give it to us. She then apologized after I complained about the food and asked me what she could do to make it better I told her what we need our freaking food, she redid all our food and it was fine and then said the manager would give us a discount this whole ordeal took over 2 hours and in the end all we got was a three dollar discount. I had a horrible headache and felt sick from the stress and waiting... I will not be returning to this Denny's. Horrible service! Horrible fix! If anything they should have given us our food for free or at least at a 50% discount. I shouldn't have left any tip but I did leave a small one as she did try to fix it. But out of every single person we were the only ones that had there food forgotten about.

Read moreUPDATE 11/17/22 after posting this review I was impressed how quickly the manager reached out to make the situation right. While I wasn’t looking for freebies I was pleased at the offer to send me 4 cards for a free meal in the future. Pretty nice, huh? Only I didn’t receive that, I received 2 cards. Went back to read the email & confirm there should have been 4. I responded to the manager stating there was an error. I heard nothing. I’m pretty happy with the 2 cards, so it’s not a situation where I’m trying to be greedy. Had the manager said 2 I would’ve been appreciative. My point is, first the food sucked & then the attempt to make it better wasn’t followed through specifically; which lends me to believe it’s not just a one time thing that things don’t go right from this Denny’s. First bad food, then bad follow through. So if you decide to go & end up having a poor experience, don’t expect a great follow through on their word either…or, you can choose to go elsewhere & get the experience you want. Good food & no need for follow through. 😊
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Ordered chicken strips for my daughter through Doordash. When it arrived the chicken strips had been so over cooked they were a deep dark brown and were tough to eat. She had to pick off the dry outer layer to eat the chicken inside but it was so over cooked it was like beef jerky. Had we been in the restaurant it would have been sent back immediately. Doordash has its benefits but when something like this happens there’s pretty much no point in trying to correct it. Between Denny’s and DoorDash it’s difficult to resolve. Have tried in the past when items were missing and Denny’s tells us to contact Doordash since it was through them but call DoorDash & there isn’t anything they can do, they said, the driver was already on other deliveries. It was sh*tshow so didn’t bother trying.I knew this going in so I’ll take the loss; however, maybe this will help others make a decision when ordering food from Dennys, especially if through Doordash.
