TL;DR: great food and overall quality vs price is appreciated but customer service is terrible. We won't come back.
Pros: Definitely one of the cheapest Peruvian restaurants out here. The price for an aji de gallina (see picture) was only $13.99 which is the best price I've seen in Washington. And it seemed pretty close to being authentic. The alfajores were great as well!
Cons: Waitresses were either stressed or definitely don't like their job. We entered the restaurant and nobody helped us find a table. We had to insist and ask whether we should find a table by ourselves or wait to be seated. After a few mins, we got a dirty table for two (there was rice and sauce on the table). I asked THREE TIMES to clean our table. The waitress looked at me saying "yes, I know" and kept forgetting to check on us again. Eventually, we asked another waitress to help us clean the mess on the table as we didn't have napkins to do it by ourselves either. When it came to ordering our food, the waitress forgot our order, brought our appetizer without silverware, we had to call her multiple times to ask for basic stuff and our food took over 25 mins to get served. We didn't get sauce for our food despite the fact that we could see other tables with at least three bottles of sauces. In addition, there's only one restroom so be prepared to wait in line if you're in a hurry.
I really wanted to like this place but I guess the cheaper the food, the worse the service gets. My recommendation is to keep checking other restaurants...
Read moreThis place was pretty damn good. And Ive know my self to have higher standards. At first I was like, "what is this menu?" I've never really seen anything quite like it. I was out of my comfort zone, but I didn't feel like getting back into rush how traffic to find another place to eat, so I dined in... And wow, similar to Colombian, like that with an almost Mexican twist. What they do with their corn, a texture a flavour phenominon, three styles, all unique. My partner and I had the raw muscles, which were loaded with ganish that match the blue lipped muscles perfectly while still leaving the muscle as the center of attention. We also shared the sea food rice. Where these people don't hold back on the seafood. Full large srimps and octopus, using both the tenticals slices and rings. The eggs were friend then chopped up and mixed into the rice which I've never experienced before, giving and less mooshie texture like scrambled eggs and more of a crispy texture combating that of the seafood. On top of all this texture...
Read moreI really enjoy this restaurant! My girlfriend grew up in Peru and this restaurant is our go to place for her favorite dishes (when I can't get the recipe right at home.. 😅) They have friendly staff that take good care of their customers as well. The Lomo Saltado is to die for and we get some every time, even if we're getting something else from the menu, so we can take it home to eat the next day. I ordered the Aeropuerto the last time I was here and it didn't blow my mind or anything but it was still pretty tasty. We've ordered for pickup several times in the last couple years and we've never been disappointed with any of our food. Their portion sizes are awesome too! I always get the Salchipapa for my son because what kid doesn't like fries and hot dogs (actually they're sausages, but kids don't see the difference 🤷) mixed together? Don't have any complaints though and I will continue to eat here with my family for...
