I had an incredible dining experience at Kurrywala in Short Hills! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a clean and modern decor that perfectly complemented the traditional flavors of the food.
The service was exceptional – the staff were friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure we had a great experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations.
Now, onto the food: absolutely delicious! Every dish was packed with authentic Indian flavors and beautifully presented. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, with just the right amount of spice, and the garlic naan was perfectly soft and fragrant. The samosas were crispy and full of flavor, and the lamb biryani was cooked to perfection with tender meat and aromatic rice.
Portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted fresh and made with care. The pricing was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food.
Overall, Kurrywala is a gem in Short Hills, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a special night out, this place will not disappoint. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreI highly recommend Indian Xpress. It fills a void my family has felt for good Indian food in the Millburn area for years.
We are vegetarians and love their well thought out vegetarian menu options. The dishes are well balanced and appeal to folks like us looking for Indian food that is authentic in taste yet low on calories. Their naans and kulchas are to die for. Our kids love their samosas, vegetable biryani, paneer makhni and chana masala! The rich and earthy flavored daal makhni which is low on butter is to die for.
Unlike food from other restaurants which is too high on calories, this food provides much needed diversity and relief from our daily home cooked meals! You can tell it is made from fresh vegetables and ingredients. The servings are generous and upon request Raj, the owner, surprises us from time to time with eclectic vegetarian dishes like vegetarian badami korma not otherwise available on the menu. We are a fan of their gulab jamuns for years now and are glad that we can now satiate our craving at a moment’s notice!

Read moreThey asked me to write a review, and I really hope they read this, because I'm so conflicted. First the good, the Lamb Roganjosh was really good. The lamb was perfectly tender, and though I chose mild, it was definitely spicy. I like a bit of spice, but not knowing their scale, I'm glad I underestimated. My BIG problem was the bread. For $8 I got both a Paratha, and a Naan. Paratha is my favorite. It should be layered, crispy, yet tender with a buttery taste. This one was not even edible. It was so tough, and no sign of layers at all. There are a few causes for this, they might be using a cheaper oil instead of Ghee, or they use too much flour, or did not knead the dough properly. But my suspicion is that the dough was old (made previously) and refrigerated. If you take refrigerated dough and try to cook it, you will get a hard piece of cardboard. And that's exactly what this tasted like. The Naan was equally as bad. And despite the appetizers and entrees being good, I likely won't return. If they could fix their bread issue I'd be back in...
