My son had his 4th birthday party at Genius Gems earlier this month. It was a unique experience and he had a great time. Over the hour, the kids did activities related to engineering and robotics all while having fun! The teachers are highly qualified and excellent with children. Given the age group, there were a few challenging moments but thanks to their quick response we had no tears. My son loves blocks ,legos and magnatiles, this was a perfect venue for him. Last but not least the place is filled with sunlight, including the party room!
All the staff members we interacted with leading up to the party were very helpful, taking time to answer every question I had. Special shout out to Justin who gave us the tour and Vanessa who I interacted over the phone.
The only thing I hope they would improve on is the clarity on various packages they offer and what is included etc. We got the Silver and I called ahead to ask if there will be water provided in addition to juice for the kids and guests in general. They said they would but on the day of my sister asked and was told she has to buy it. When I told them about my phone call, they did put out a few bottles but this should not have been in the case. I have no problem bringing my own bottles if they did not provide them but the communication was the issue. This happened again when they were serving cake to the adults. One of the teachers asked me if I had extra plates, we did not use the plates they provided for the kids so I was going to use them for the adults. I said no and said there were some available from earlier (plates they set aside for kids we did not use). And then she asked me if I had forks, again I said no because when I called earlier they said I could use plates and utensils I would have for the kids that I did not use. This is when the teacher said we don't usually provide them but I will get them for you. I did not know what to say except thank you standing next to a guest. I checked their site again, Silver does include utensils. Again, not a big deal if I had to bring them BUT I was told I did not need to. Finally, the email they send you is not tailored so it highlights in bold about Bronze package which confused me so I had to call them to make sure they have me as Silver and there will be pizza, setup help, plates and utensils etc.
All that said, every new business has things to iron out. We will definitely go back, recommend this...
Read moreI cannot say enough wonderful things about Genius Gems! We have been attending for the last three years, and every moment has been outstanding. The instructors are incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely invested in each child's learning and development. My kiddo absolutely loves attending their programs and looks forward to every session with enthusiasm.
Over the years, my kid has participated in multiple classes, including Lego brick engineering summer camp, coding and robotics, mad science lab, and their Pre-K STEM class. Each class has been a unique experience, sparking creativity and fostering a love for learning. It's amazing to see how much my kid has grown and developed new skills through these engaging and well-designed programs.
The summer camp has been particularly impressive this year. It's not easy to find a full-day program with an extended care option that keeps kids engaged and happy all day long, but Genius Gems did it effortlessly. The variety of activities they offer keeps my child entertained and challenged, and it’s clear that they’ve put a lot of thought into creating an enriching experience.
We truly appreciate the dedication and care that Genius Gems provides. It's a relief to know that my kid is not only learning new skills but is also in a safe and nurturing environment. Thank you, Genius Gems, for providing such a fantastic place for kids to learn, grow,...
Read moreWhen I left I jokingly stated that I felt like I went to a Day Spa. As a mom, anyplace where I can relax with a cup of tea and know that my son is having fun, learning and safe in a clean environment sends my nervous system the same response as would a spa :). We went to Genius Gems because my son is obsessed with magnatiles so I figured a trip from Brooklyn might be worth the travel. Our experience exceeded my expectations. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable about all things magnatiles. They assisted with creative ideas to help little ones get going and they have lots of experience manipulating the shapes- so they can quickly help develop ideas the children may have. My niece isn’t big on magnatiles so she spent some time in the crafts room. Multiple stations allow kids a chance to bounce around. The owners are so hospitable that I felt like I was hanging out at their house. We came from NY so if you live in NJ this should be your “go to” play space. Thanks to Mark and Justin for your patience and making my kids feel like genius gems! Can’t...
